KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for a fully remote Staff Infrastructure Engineer.

Overview
We are seeking a Staff Infrastructure Engineer to own and evolve the infrastructure, deployment systems, and internal platforms that enable engineering teams to move quickly while maintaining reliability, security, and quality.
This is an infrastructure-first role with additional depth in either backend engineering or quality engineering. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, observability, deployment automation, and developer tooling, along with expertise in either application architecture or automated testing frameworks.
As software development continues to evolve through AI-assisted workflows, platform engineering plays an increasingly critical role. This position will help build the systems, quality controls, and deployment guardrails that allow teams to deliver software rapidly and safely at scale.
What Success Looks Like
Your primary responsibility is ownership of infrastructure and platform engineering. You will architect and manage CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, runtime environments, monitoring solutions, and developer tooling. You'll establish standards for how services are built, tested, deployed, and observed.
You will also help shape the future of AI-assisted development by creating automated verification processes, quality controls, and deployment safeguards that support rapid software delivery while maintaining reliability and security.
Depending on your background, you may additionally contribute to backend architecture, API design, service scalability, automated testing frameworks, or release quality initiatives.
This role will have significant influence on the long-term platform strategy and technical roadmap as systems continue to scale and support increasingly complex business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Platform Engineering
* Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
* Develop scalable platform services, runtime environments, and developer tooling.
* Implement release management processes, rollback strategies, and deployment validation systems.
* Standardize build, test, deployment, and monitoring practices across engineering teams.
* Continuously improve platform reliability, performance, and security.
AI-Enabled Development Infrastructure
* Build quality gates and verification systems that support AI-assisted software development.
* Develop automation and guardrails that improve confidence in code quality and deployments.
* Evaluate and integrate AI development tools into engineering workflows.
* Create scalable platform capabilities that increase engineering productivity.
Backend or Quality Engineering Partnership
For candidates with backend experience:
* Contribute to API design and service architecture.
* Collaborate on scalable infrastructure and distributed system patterns.
* Improve platform architecture supporting application growth.
For candidates with quality engineering experience:
* Design and maintain automated testing frameworks.
* Build quality validation infrastructure and release controls.
* Develop testing strategies that improve deployment confidence.
Platform Strategy & Leadership
* Define and execute platform engineering initiatives.
* Partner with engineering leadership on infrastructure investments and roadmap planning.
* Mentor engineers and promote best practices around platform reliability and automation.
* Drive technical decisions that improve developer experience and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
* Extensive experience building and operating modern infrastructure and platform systems.
* Strong expertise with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and cloud infrastructure.
* Experience designing scalable developer platforms and internal tooling.
* Deep understanding of observability, monitoring, logging, and incident response practices.
* Experience supporting highly available production environments.
* Strong problem-solving and systems-thinking skills.
* Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate technical concepts effectively.
Preferred Technical Skills
* AWS and/or GCP
* Kubernetes and containerized workloads
* CI/CD platforms and build systems
* Infrastructure as Code
* Monitoring and observability tools
* Node.js and TypeScript
* API architecture and distributed systems

Compensation depends on experience but is typically $90-98/hr.
