Job Description

We are seeking a Infrastructure Engineer to help evolve, support, and strengthen our core IT systems and services. This role focuses on building and maintaining secure, scalable infrastructure across cloud and hybrid environments, with an emphasis on Microsoft 365, identity services, and enterprise systems architecture.

The ideal candidate brings broad infrastructure experience with strong expertise in Microsoft 365, identity and access management, and a practical understanding of automation, modern tooling, and emerging AI capabilities. This person will operate as a senior individual contributor, providing technical depth, sound judgment, and influence across infrastructure initiatives.

This role is well-suited for someone who can take ownership of complex technical areas, help shape standards and direction, and potentially grow into broader team or functional leadership over time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and support enterprise infrastructure systems across cloud and hybrid environments

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for core Microsoft 365 services, including Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, and related collaboration services

  • Maintain a working understanding of SharePoint Online and its role within the broader Microsoft 365 ecosystem

  • Support and enhance identity and access management practices, including provisioning, lifecycle management, SSO, MFA, conditional access, and access governance

  • Provide senior-level technical guidance on infrastructure design, systems architecture, integrations, and operational best practices

  • Use scripting, automation, and modern tooling to improve consistency, efficiency, and reliability in infrastructure operations

  • Contribute to the evaluation and thoughtful adoption of emerging technologies, including AI-assisted tools where appropriate

  • Partner with security teams to align infrastructure services with best practices across identity, endpoint, data protection, and access control

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, identity, collaboration, and integration issues

  • Help define and improve infrastructure standards, documentation, processes, and support models

  • Act as a technical escalation point for complex issues

  • Work cross-functionally with IT, security, engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable technology services

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.

  • 3+ years of network engineering experience in an enterprise environment.

  • 7+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems engineering, or related IT roles

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration and enterprise collaboration services

  • Proven experience with identity and access management, including SSO, MFA, directory services, conditional access, and user lifecycle processes

  • Solid understanding of systems architecture, including cloud services, hybrid infrastructure, networking, security, and integration patterns

  • Working knowledge of scripting and automation tools, with PowerShell strongly preferred

  • Experience supporting and improving hybrid cloud/on-premises environments

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across complex infrastructure and application integration scenarios

  • Ability to provide technical direction and influence decisions without requiring formal management authority

  • Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code or configuration management tools such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or similar

  • Familiarity with endpoint management tools such as Intune, Autopilot, and related Microsoft security capabilities

  • Experience with ServiceNow, particularly incident, request, change, asset, or configuration management processes

  • Experience supporting infrastructure in the energy industry or another highly regulated environment, with familiarity with NERC-CIP, audit readiness, access controls, change management, or related compliance practices

  • Exposure to zero trust architecture principles

  • Experience evaluating or using AI-assisted tools in IT operations or enterprise productivity environments

  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft 365, Azure, identity, security, or related infrastructure certifications
