Infrastructure Engineer Network Focus
Company: LiteCloud
Location: Baltimore, MD area (Hybrid remote eligible after 30-day onboarding period)
Salary: $90,000+, commensurate with experience
About the Role
LiteCloud is a managed services and internet service provider in the Baltimore area, operating across MSP, residential ISP, commercial fiber, and datacenter environments. We're looking for an Infrastructure Engineer with a strong networking foundation to join our team.
This is a generalist infrastructure role with a network-heavy tilt. We need someone who can work across the full stack but who's strongest when the problem is routing, switching, or connectivity.
We place a high value on documentation. The right candidate documents as they go, builds runbooks and diagrams as a matter of habit..
Required Skills
Networking (Primary Focus)
  • Routing & Switching BGP, OSPF, VLANs, inter-VLAN routing, SAN switching
  • Firewall Administration FortiGate strongly preferred; general next-gen firewall experience required
  • VPN Technologies IPsec site-to-site, SD-WAN concepts
  • Datacenter Infrastructure Cross-connects, ISP handoffs, physical layer understanding
  • Network Monitoring PRTG / Zabbix, SNMP, syslog

Systems & Infrastructure
  • Virtualization Hyper-V and/or VMware administration; Proxmox experience a plus
  • Backup & DR Veeam Backup & Replication; understanding of backup architecture, job management, and recovery workflows
  • Microsoft 365 / Entra ID Tenant administration, conditional access, basic security posture management
  • Windows Server Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, RDP/terminal services
  • Documentation & Diagramming Visio or draw.io; strong documentation habits are essential to this role

Preferred / Bonus Skills
  • FreePBX / Asterisk SIP trunks, SBC configuration, Sangoma ecosystem
  • Cambium cnMaestro / wireless backhaul
  • Fiber and circuit management carrier circuits, LOAs, circuit IDs
  • Ciena MCP experience
  • Proxmox / Linux server administration
  • RMM tooling
  • PowerShell scripting for automation and administration

What We're Looking For
  • 510 years of experience in infrastructure and/or network engineering, ideally with MSP or multi-client background
  • A generalist who can own the full infrastructure stack, but whose depth is in networking
  • Someone who treats documentation as a core part of the engineering work, not an afterthought
  • A strong communicator with an MSP mentality juggling multiple client environments, understanding scope boundaries, knowing when something is "ours" vs. the client's internal IT
  • Self-directed and comfortable working with a small team where you own outcomes, not just tickets

Certifications (Valued, Not Required)
  • CCNA / CCNP
  • Fortinet NSE4+
  • CompTIA Network+, Server+, or Security+
  • Microsoft certifications (AZ-104, AZ-500, or similar)
  • VCP (VMware) or Veeam VMCE

What We Offer

  • Salary: $90,000+, based on experience
  • Autonomy real ownership of infrastructure, not just executing runbooks
  • Variety MSP life means no two days are the same
  • Growth path opportunity for leadership responsibility as LiteCloud grows
