The IT Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for coordinating, governing, and advancing infrastructure services that support business operations across multiple sites, with a strong focus on WAN, LAN, server infrastructure, factory/OT connectivity, cybersecurity compliance, and major incident management. The position is intended to facilitate infrastructure demands, manage local infrastructure, coordinate service providers, validate technical solutions, support critical issue resolution, and ensure the IT landscape can support business growth, factory operations, and new site expansions. Similar infrastructure and vendor-facing roles commonly focus on coordinating technical services, driving standards, supporting design reviews, managing vendor performance, and ensuring operational continuity.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and coordinate all WAN-related infrastructure requests, including circuit ordering, upgrades, and service changes.
  • Lead regular operational touchpoints with WAN providers to review delivery status, service quality, and upcoming business needs.
  • Perform bandwidth and capacity planning to support business growth, production demands, and new site launches.
  • Coordinate major LAN-related requests such as new site deployments, VLAN additions, network expansions, and significant infrastructure changes.
  • Manage local networks
  • Ensure infrastructure changes are properly documented, approved, communicated, and aligned with governance processes.
  • Support infrastructure readiness for business expansion, factory changes, and new operational requirements.
  • Support factory-focused infrastructure architecture, including alignment between enterprise IT and OT/manufacturing environments.
  • Review proposed infrastructure solutions and validate that designs support reliability, scalability, cybersecurity, and business continuity.
  • Identify infrastructure risks, technical gaps, and non-standard designs; escalate where needed and recommend mitigation plans.
  • Ensure global infrastructure governance is balanced appropriately with local, regional, and factory operational needs.
  • Coordinate ordering and infrastructure demand related to on-premises server environments, hybrid platforms, and cloud-hosted services.
  • Support planning and governance across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud infrastructure landscapes.
  • Ensure infrastructure architecture and service delivery comply with cybersecurity requirements, internal controls, and company standards.
  • Partner with cybersecurity teams to identify, assess, and address infrastructure-related risks.
  • Promote secure and resilient infrastructure practices across factory, office, and multi-site environments.
  • Act as an infrastructure escalation point during major incidents, partnering with site teams, service providers, and technical stakeholders to accelerate recovery.
  • Identify recurring issues and work with vendors and internal teams to reduce incident frequency and improve service stability.
  • Translate technical issues, risks, and recommendations into clear business-impact language for non-technical audiences.
  • Support execution of global IT strategy while balancing local operational and factory needs.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in infrastructure processes, documentation, governance, and service transparency.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6-8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, preferably in complex, multi-site enterprise environments.
  • Strong experience working in vendor-managed IT service environments.
  • Strong foundation in WAN, LAN, networking, and infrastructure service delivery.
  • Experience supporting multiple locations, growing businesses, and/or new site deployments.
  • Exposure to factory or manufacturing environments, including awareness of OT/production-critical infrastructure needs.
  • Experience coordinating or supporting major incidents, problem management, and escalations.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation, coordination, and vendor management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ITIL-based processes, especially Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure governance and standardization in global organizations.
  • Understanding of OT/IT integration, network segmentation, and production-critical environments.
  • Experience with server management, data center operations, or hybrid/cloud hosting models.
  • Exposure to service management metrics, including SLAs, OLAs, KPIs, MTTR, and RCA tracking.

Certifications such as:

  • Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCIE
  • ITIL Foundation or higher
  • Cloud foundation certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Infrastructure, networking, or service management certifications.
