Information Systems Technology Services is a unified organization comprised of various departments which collaborate effectively in order to deliver high quality technology solutions/services.
Position Summary
Supports, maintains, configures, Designs, Develops, Debugs, and enhances enterprise applications and systems to ensure reliable and efficient service delivery. Analyzes system performance, investigates incidents, troubleshoots application issues, and implements corrective actions to restore and maintain operational stability. Collaborates with business users, technical teams, vendors, and project stakeholders to understand requirements, support system changes, Performs Coding and tests/debugs programs, and address ongoing operational needs. Participates in application upgrades, deployments, testing, and environment maintenance activities in accordance with established processes and standards. Develops and maintains technical documentation, support procedures, and knowledge articles. Performs system validation, problem management, and continuous improvement activities to enhance application reliability, performance, and user experience. This is an IT support role responsible for supporting business-critical applications and services, including participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation to ensure timely response and resolution of production incidents and operational issues.
PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity,specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be around the minimum and the midpoint $114,000 - $148,000. The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.
Bay Area Min: $ 114,000
Bay Area Max: $ 182,000
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and 2-3 days per week at our Oakland Headquarters/San Ramon based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
Job Responsibilities
ADMS Application Support & Operations: Analyze and support complex ADMS applications, including SCADA, OMS, DMS, and associated integrations. Understand business and operational requirements and apply them to system configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvement activities. Follow established IT operational processes, support procedures, change management standards, and compliance requirements.
Operational Support & Incident Management: Independently plan and execute operational support activities to meet service level objectives. Monitor system health, investigate alerts and incidents, coordinate issue resolution, and ensure timely restoration of critical grid operations services. Provide on-call and after-hours support as required.
Problem Resolution & Root Cause Analysis: Lead investigation and resolution of complex application, infrastructure, and integration issues impacting ADMS environments. Perform root cause analysis, develop corrective actions, and implement preventive measures. Leverage deep technical knowledge and operational experience to resolve issues spanning multiple technology domains.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Control Center operations, business users, vendors, project teams, infrastructure teams, cybersecurity teams, and application support groups to address operational issues, system enhancements, planned maintenance activities, and production releases. Represent the support team in operational reviews, project discussions, and incident management activities.
Change, Release & Environment Management: Support system upgrades, patching, application deployments, failover testing, disaster recovery exercises, and environment maintenance activities. Assess operational risks, validate deployment readiness, and ensure successful implementation of changes in production and non-production environments.
Technical Leadership & Knowledge Sharing: Provide guidance and mentoring to junior support engineers and analysts. Develop operational documentation, troubleshooting guides, runbooks, and knowledge articles to improve support effectiveness, system reliability, and team readiness.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve system stability, monitoring, automation, operational processes, and support workflows. Drive initiatives that enhance ADMS platform reliability, availability, performance, and cybersecurity posture.
Qualifications
Minimum:
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 3 years experience of software or system engineering

Desired:
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex application, system, and integration issues in a production environment.
  • Experience supporting business-critical applications and services in a 24x7 operational environment.
  • Knowledge of incident management, problem management, change management, and release management processes.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation and respond to production incidents as required.
  • Experience with programming/Scripting languages
  • Experience with Utility Industry, knowledge of ADMS/SCADA/OMS
  • Experience supporting mission-critical operational systems, utility applications, or enterprise platforms.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, log analysis, application performance management, and system health monitoring tools.
  • Experience working with vendors, business stakeholders, and cross-functional technical teams.
  • Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity concepts.
  • Experience with ITIL-based support and service management practices.
