Ankura's fast-growing global Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Practice offers a full-service suite of cybersecurity and data privacy solutions for clients, regardless of industry or size. We provide incident response, complex investigations, threat intelligence, expert services, managed security services, cyber risk and data privacy advisory services customized to clients' requirements. Our experts assess cyber risk and readiness, test and harden clients' infrastructure, and respond instantly and decisively when threats arise. We regularly advise boards of directors, members of the C-suite, general counsel, outside counsel, IT leaders, and other stakeholders at all stages of any cyber incident.

Role Overview:
The Information Governance Managing Director role will work in a collaborative team environment that spans across Ankura's multidisciplinary areas of expertise. Ankura invests in its people through training, mentorship, and performance feedback to provide continuous development opportunities. As a Managing Director, you be market facing and will have responsibility for deal flow and driving new business for the practice. The selected candidate will need to be familiar with the challenges clients face and will work to design and deliver solutions. You will execute critical project deliverables to ensure these objectives are met on time and with the highest quality.
Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for spearheading revenue generation initiatives and driving new business development to achieve company growth objectives

  • Directs day-to-day project work under the guidance of practice leadership, both as project manager and as engagement lead overseeing the team's project manager.

  • Develops procedures and processes for ensuring the classification, confidentiality, data privacy, data protection, retention and disposition of client and firm information. Develops and implements plans, strategies, and policies that improve client's posture as it relates to information governance, data privacy, data protection, and other information governance functions and services.

  • Serves as an information governance subject matter expert able to advise on client's teams such as: document management system team, litigation support team, email management team, and security governance teams; legal teams; and administrative departments.

  • Drafts, reviews and/or presents proposals, project plans, status reports, metrics, and other information in a format and style appropriate for the intended audience.

  • Communicates the information governance vision and information governance guiding principles in a variety of forums for clients and across Ankura practices.

  • Mentors and coaches team members to enable their growth as information governance subject matter experts, consulting professionals, and client advocates.

Requirements:

  • Candidates with an educational background from a wide variety of disciplines including information technology, legal, compliance, information management, records management, or information security will be considered.

  • 10+ years experience in information governance or business analysis gained in professional services advising clients.

  • Proven track record of generating new business and driving revenue

  • Extensive and demonstrable experience in information governance, records management, data privacy, data protection, or related area in a highly sophisticated legal, professional services, consulting or corporate environment.

  • Broad knowledge of information governance, data privacy, and data protection laws, regulations, and best practices.

  • Must demonstrate a risk management mindset with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Ability to build strong relationships, and help build out appropriate go to market materials, templates and proposals.

  • Willingness and flexibility to travel as required.

  • Helpful Certifications: Information Governance Professional (IGP), Certified Records Manager (CRM), Electronic Records Management (ERM) or similar professional certifications preferred
