Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing evolution of the enterprise Information Governance framework, including records management, data lifecycle management, retention, and defensible disposal.
  • Lead IG communications, training, and awareness programs to drive behavioral change and accountability.
  • Translate legal, regulatory, and business requirements into practical, scalable IG policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Aligning IG strategy with enterprise data, privacy, security, AI, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Own the global records retention schedule, including updates driven by regulatory changes, litigation risk, and business needs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable information governance requirements (e.g., GDPR recordkeeping principles, sectorspecific obligations, crossborder data considerations).
  • Support audits, regulatory inquiries, customer assessments, and internal risk reviews related to information lifecycle management.
  • Partner with IT, Security, and Digital teams to operationalize IG controls in enterprise systems (e.g., M365, collaboration tools, content repositories, lineofbusiness platforms).
  • Evaluate and support deployment of IG, records management, eDiscovery, and data classification technologies.
  • Drive adoption of automation and scalable controls to manage data growth and complexity.

Education and Experience Required:

  • At least 8+ years of records management experience and relevant experience in strategy, planning, operations.
  • BS/BA degree and 9 years of relevant experience; or
  • MS/MA degree in and 7 years of relevant experience
  • Certified Records Manager (CRM) or Information Governance Professional (IGP), preferred
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and issues impacting IG (e.g., AI, analytics, collaboration tools, data minimization).
  • Global regulatory exposure (e.g., EU, US, UK, APAC).

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent analytical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate abstract ideas clearly and independently manage complex project objectives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence skills.
  • Very strong project management skills, including time and risk management, and project structuring.
  • Strong relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting.
  • Strong leadership skills, including coaching, team building, and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to independently draft and present client deliverables, recommendations, and communications strategies.
  • Ability to manage human capital to drive workforce development and achieve desired results.
