What is an influential?

Influentials, often referred to as influencers, are individuals who have the power to affect the purchasing decisions or opinions of others because of their authority, knowledge, position, or relationship with their audience. They typically have a strong presence on social media platforms, where they engage with followers by creating and sharing content. Brands often collaborate with influentials to promote products or services, leveraging their credibility and reach. Being an influential requires authenticity, consistent content creation, and the ability to connect with and inspire a specific audience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an influential, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Influencer, you need expertise in content creation, audience engagement, and personal branding, often supported by a strong social media presence. These skills and qualities are important to create compelling content, grow an engaged audience, and collaborate successfully with brands.

What are some common challenges faced by influentials when working with brands, and how can these be managed effectively?

Influencers often encounter challenges such as negotiating fair compensation, maintaining creative control, and ensuring brand partnerships align with their personal values and audience interests. Managing these challenges involves clear communication with brands about expectations, deliverables, and content guidelines, as well as reviewing contracts carefully before committing to collaborations. Building strong professional relationships and being transparent with audiences also help foster trust and long-term success in the role.

What are the most impactful careers?

Summary

The Influencer Coordinator supports the day-to-day execution of Coegi's paid influencer programs across the client portfolio. This person handles creator sourcing, outreach, contracting logistics, content tracking, and reporting, ensuring campaigns run smoothly from creator identification through delivery and measurement.

This role is ideal for someone with foundational influencer marketing experience who is organized, relationship-oriented, and ready to own the operational backbone of influencer campaigns. The Coordinator works closely with the Influencer Manager, Paid Social, Project Management, and Client Engagement to keep creator programs on track, on brand, and on time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Creator sourcing and vetting. Research, identify, and vet potential creators against campaign criteria, brand-safety standards, and audience fit; maintain organized creator lists and databases.
  • Outreach and coordination. Manage creator outreach, communication, and scheduling; serve as a day-to-day point of contact to keep creators informed and on timeline.
  • Contracting and logistics. Support contracting, briefing, and onboarding logistics; track deliverables, usage rights, deadlines, and payments in partnership with the Influencer Manager.
  • Content tracking and QA. Track content submission, review, and approval workflows; QA content against briefs, disclosure requirements, and brand guidelines before it goes live.
  • Reporting support. Collect performance data across creators and platforms; populate reporting templates and assist with campaign recaps and insights.
  • Cross-functional collaboration. Coordinate with Paid Social, Client Engagement, and analytics teammates to align influencer execution with broader campaign strategy.
  • Process and documentation. Maintain organized trackers, contracts, and shared files; follow and help improve Coegi's influencer operational processes.

Qualifications - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • 2-4 years of influencer marketing, social media, or related experience, including hands-on creator coordination.
  • Hands-on experience with influencer/creator sourcing, outreach, and campaign coordination.
  • Familiarity with major social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube) and the creator ecosystem.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills; able to track many moving parts across multiple campaigns.
  • Comfort with data and reporting in Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and a relationship-oriented, collaborative mindset.

Traits:

  • Eager, detail-oriented, and dependable; takes ownership of tasks and follows through.
  • Collaborative team player who asks good questions and is comfortable learning in the open.
  • Comfortable handling confidential client, performance, and campaign information with discretion.
  • Curious Experimentation: tries new tools (especially AI) without prompting; comes to status with 'what I tried this week,' not just 'what I did.'
  • Confident Humility: brings a clear point of view and updates it when challenged; asks 'what am I missing?'; disagrees agreeably and welcomes a challenge network.
  • Cross-Functional Instinct: naturally thinks beyond their lane; pulls others in proactively; shares context without being asked; builds relationships across departments.
  • Generous Collaboration: enters new partnerships, sister agencies, or unfamiliar workflows with curiosity rather than skepticism; volunteers context, capacity, and connections without keeping score; leaves new collaborators feeling smarter and more supported.
  • Selfless Ambition: ambitious for the work and the team, not for personal visibility; promotes others' wins; comfortable being challenged; builds people up, especially newer ones.
  • Bias Toward Reduction: when given a problem, asks what to remove before what to add; notices when a process is broken rather than building a workaround; comfortable saying 'we should stop doing this.'
  • Decision Quality: makes good calls under uncertainty with imperfect information and owns the outcomes; can articulate trade-offs; makes the call rather than escalating reflexively; owns the miss when wrong, without spinning.
  • Strategic Acumen: sees how their work fits the bigger picture; asks 'what is this for?' before 'how do I do it?'; connects their slice to the larger value chain; can articulate why a client or the business cares about a metric, not just what the metric is.

Travel

Occasional travel may be required, including travel for client meetings and company events.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, with a concentration in marketing, communication, business, or advertising preferred; or equivalent experience.
