Professionals concentrating on virality often face the challenge of staying ahead of rapidly changing trends and platform algorithms. They must balance creativity with data-driven strategies, continually testing content formats to discover what resonates most with audiences. Creator Partnerships Lead

Hook Music Inc

New York, NY โ€ข On-site, Remote

Full-time

Re-posted 26 days ago

Job description

About Hook
Hook is a social music platform, backed by top-tier investors, building the next generation of music discovery, fan expression, and creator growth. We turn the songs people love into sounds they can play with, enabling fans and creators to reimagine music through intuitive, remix-friendly experiences with zero learning curve.
By partnering directly with artists, labels, and rightsholders, Hook ensures music is discovered, shared, and expressed in ways that respect and reward the people behind it. At Hook, music isn't just consumed. It's experienced, expressed, and made personal.
Role Overview
We're looking for a Creator Partnerships Lead to own the full creator lifecycle at Hook. From finding and signing the right creators to turning them into power users and advocates who drive exponential growth for the platform. Today, creator programs at Hook are nascent. This role exists to build them from the ground up: a repeatable acquisition engine, a retention system that keeps creators activated and growing, a monetization framework that makes Hook worth building on, and a virality loop that turns every creator into a distribution channel.
You've built and scaled this at another platform where creators are the heartbeat of a community. You know how creator economies work and where they break. You know which creator segments move metrics and which don't. You know how to turn a gifted creator into a loyal brand ambassador.
This is a highly hands-on, zero-to-one role. You'll work directly with our VP, Head of Growth and cross-functionally across Product, Operations, and Marketing to build creator and community programs that become one of Hook's most durable competitive advantages.
What You'll Do
Build and scale our Creator Acquisition, Retention, Engagement and Monetization engine
  • Identify and sign high-impact creator segments (musicians, remixers, music fans, tastemakers) who drive new user acquisition and content virality
  • Build scalable outreach and onboarding pipelines, from creator sourcing to seeding campaigns and ambassador programs
  • Own creator acquisition KPIs: new creator signups, activation rate, content output, K-factor, and downstream MAU impact
  • Develop tiered partnership structures: from micro-creator seeding programs to anchor deals

Drive Creator Retention & Engagement
  • Design and run creator lifecycle programs that keep creators active, growing, and deepening their investment in Hook
  • Build feedback loops between creators and Product - ensuring the roadmap solves for real creator pain points
  • Develop creator education, toolkits, and community programs that reduce churn and increase content frequency
  • Own creator retention metrics: monthly active creators, content cadence, and creator NPS

Develop the Creator Monetization Framework
  • Design monetization programs that give creators real incentive to build on Hook, from leaderboard mechanics to revenue share models, creator funds, and brand partnership facilitation down the road
  • Work with leadership to define Hook's long-term creator economics strategy
  • Optimize monetization metrics like creator earnings, deal volume, and creator LTV

Engineer Creator Virality & K-Factor Growth
  • Turn creators into Hook's most powerful distribution channel by building programs and incentive structures that drive sharing, referrals, and cross-platform amplification
  • Partner with Growth and Product to build creator-native virality features: referral loops, duet/collab mechanics, social sharing tools, and challenge formats
  • Identify and amplify Hook's highest-K creators, the ones whose content generates the highest new user acquisition downstream
  • Own virality metrics: share rate, K-factor contribution by creator segment, viral content volume

Lead & Scale the Creator Team
  • Build and manage a lean, high-output Creator & Community team as the company scales
  • Establish playbooks, systems, and tooling that allow the team to operate efficiently at scale
  • Serve as the internal voice of the creator, advocating for creator needs across Product, Marketing, and Operations
  • Ensure creator programs are fully integrated with company-wide growth strategy

Required Skills & Experience
  • 6-8 years of experience in creator partnerships & growth at a leading creator-focused music platform
  • Proven track record building creator acquisition programs from scratch: you've stood up a creator pipeline, not just managed one
  • Deep expertise in creator retention: you've built engagement programs, creator communities, and lifecycle communications that measurably reduced churn
  • Hands-on experience designing or operating creator monetization models: revenue share, creator funds, or direct-to-fan programs
  • Demonstrated ability to engineer creator-driven virality by understanding K-factor, referral loops, and how to make sharing feel native to the creator experience
  • Strong command of creator economy metrics
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on, comfortable moving between defining the creator strategy and personally closing a high-priority creator deal
  • Track record of cross-functional collaboration with Product, Operations, Growth, and Marketing teams translating creator insights into product improvements and campaign strategies
  • Experience working with music creators, music communities, or audio-native platforms and having a strong network across the creator ecosystem (you know the managers, agents, multi-channel networks, and tastemakers who matter) is a strong plus

Why This Role Is Exciting
Hook's creator economy is a blank canvas. You won't be inheriting someone else's playbook, you'll write it. We're the only platform that enables music communities to co-create with licensed access to the world's most popular artists & tracks. This is the foundational repertoire you'll be playing from, and it's your story to tell.
You'll work directly with our VP, Head of Growth and sit at the core of the engine shaping Hook's growth trajectory. If you've been waiting to build something that combines your love of music, empowering creators, and directly shaping a platform at the heart of music culture and community, this is it.
