Position: Well Test Field Engineer Trainee

Location: USA | New Iberia, Louisiana

Job Summary

  • Well Testing Field Engineer Trainee is an entry level position with defined 2-year career progression program.  The program includes milestone-based increases in compensation at the 1- and 2-year intervals.

This is considered a safety sensitive position therefore will be subject to random drug testing as required.


The Field Engineer will be involved in all aspects of well testing service delivery process from the outset of their career.

To include the below:

  • Hands on maintenance of heavy-duty industrial process equipment
  • Accountability and responsibility for data acquisition equipment and reporting software
  • Procurement of materials and equipment for projects and data acquisition
  • Collection, organization and tracking of project quality documentation
  • Performance as Data Acquisition Engineer or equipment operator during offshore well testing operations
  • Assisting in project P&ID, procedure generation, engineering deliverables etc
  • Assisting in various phases of project management 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and preparation of well testing and data acquisition equipment for offshore projects
  • Installation, testing and operation of well testing and data acquisition equipment on offshore facilities
  • Offshore performance as Data Acquisition Engineer or Operator during well testing operations
  • Assisting senior Field Engineers with project deliverables, P&IDs, relief studies, regulatory documentation, quality documentation
  • Generation of procedural and standard practice documentation for the data acquisition and engineering department
  • Assisting Field Managers / Field Engineers with project management

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribution in continuous improvement through the utilization of operational excellence tools and programs

  • Promotion of safety, service quality, and unity between all CETCO Divisions

Travel

  • Position requires domestic travel to offshore locations at an average of 50% per year

  • International travel is on a voluntary basis only.

Working Conditions

  • Offshore and onshore industrial facilities
  • Outdoors and in inclement weather as necessary (heat, cold and/or rain)
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform routine manual labor


Working Hours

  • Onshore Support Facility
    • Monday to Friday – 7 AM to 4 PM
      • On 24-hour call to support offshore operations after normal business hours or on weekends
  • Offshore or Onshore Operations
    • 7 Days/Week – 12 hr/day - Day or Night Shift
      • May be required to work up to 16 hours on a as needed basis
  • Time Off
    • Paid days off are accrued at a 3-1 ratio.
    • Days off must be scheduled and approved by the Operations Manager.
    • Employees are on 24 hr call and may be called in on previously scheduled days off during high demand periods.
