Job description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an exceptional individual to join the AMER Central Commissioning Team as a Commissioning Coordinator (CxC). The CxC reports directly to the Regional Manager and provides administrative project support, leads strategic initiatives, and drives process improvement for the Commissioning Engineers (CxEs) and Commissioning Managers across the organization. We thrive on operational efficiency and always insist on the highest standards.
In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating program coordination for the AMER Central Commissioning team. You will be involved in the full life cycle of construction/commissioning projects within your assigned region, including activity from the start of the construction project through project execution and close out. You will work with highly-motivated experts from Engineering, Design, Construction, Procurement, Finance, and Legal to complete key deliverables required to build AWS data centers. You will coordinate with AMER CxC's from other regions to maintain consistency across the program.
The successful candidate will be a strong communicator (both written and verbal), not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities, and have a basic understanding of data center construction, and a drive to learn and be curious. They will be detailed oriented and apply a variety of program coordination tools, methodologies, and techniques that support quick and efficient purchasing across all commissioning project types.

Key job responsibilities
- Managing and tracking Requests for Quotes (RFQs)
- Facilitating Work Order (WO) and Change Order (CO) requests
- Submitting Purchase Requests (PRs), as needed
- Track Purchase Order (PO) status
- Deep dive invoicing issues
- Maintaining and tracking the status of contracts, budgets, and spend
- Implementing and maintaining reports and dashboards
- Collaborating with Procurement and external commissioning vendors to deliver operational excellence initiatives
- Writing and maintaining internal and external training material and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of maintenance planner/scheduler in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or distribution industries experience
- 3+ years of advanced Microsoft Word and Excel experience
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field, or 2+ years of Amazon RME (BB/3P) full time experience
- 2+ years of construction or project management, or 2+ years of vendor management experience
- 4+ years of professional work experience, or experience in MS Office, with an emphasis on Excel
- Bachelor degree in Construction Management, Cost Controls, Accounting, or applicable degree; experience can be substituted for degree
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of Lean principles and DMAIC methodology
- Experience in requirement gathering and ability to write clear and detailed requirement document
- Experience using Microsoft Projects software
- Experience with material handling systems (MHS) installation, operation and maintenance
- Experience working in an analytical environment with cross-functional teams
- Experience working independently and collaborating effectively in a remote team environment
- Experience leading prioritization of tasks, team scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines
- Experience leading process improvements
- Experience working in Procore
- Demonstrated ability to interpret contract terms, conditions, and exhibits as applicable to project requirements

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
