Independent Contractor Offshore Jobs in Indiana (NOW HIRING)

Independent Contractor Offshore information

What is an independent contractor offshore?

An Independent Contractor Offshore is a self-employed individual or business entity that provides services to clients in a different country, typically outside the client’s home nation. These contractors work remotely and are not considered employees, which means they manage their own taxes, schedules, and work processes. Companies often engage offshore independent contractors to access specialized skills or cost efficiencies, while the contractor maintains autonomy over how the work is completed. However, both parties must ensure compliance with local labor laws and international regulations. Clear contracts and communication are essential to successful offshore contractor relationships.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an independent contractor offshore?

To thrive as an Independent Contractor Offshore, you need expertise in your trade (such as engineering, welding, or drilling), relevant offshore certifications (like BOSIET or HUET), and a proven safety record. Familiarity with offshore safety protocols, specialized equipment, and project management or reporting systems is often required. Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and effective communication are essential soft skills for working independently and within diverse teams in remote environments. These skills are crucial for ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and safety in challenging offshore conditions.

What are some common challenges faced by independent contractors working offshore, and how can they be managed effectively?

Independent Contractors working offshore often encounter challenges such as adapting to different time zones, communication barriers with onshore teams, and navigating varying safety and regulatory requirements. To manage these effectively, contractors should establish clear communication channels, stay updated on local and international compliance standards, and proactively coordinate schedules to accommodate time differences. Building strong relationships with both the offshore and onshore teams can also foster smoother collaboration and ensure project success.

The Opportunity:

The Quote Management team is part of DIA Commercial Operations, a strategic global function within Roche Digital Technology (RDT), and is at the heart of our Diagnostics digital landscape. We are responsible for developing, globally rolling out, and continuously evolving technology solutions that enhance the experience of healthcare providers and patients. Serving as a link between global business units - such as Roche Diagnostics Solutions (RDS), Roche Information Solutions (RIS), and Commercial Enablement - and their operational goals, we design the digital architecture that enables Roche to scale its impact across APAC, EMEA/LATAM, and NAM.

Job Responsibilities

  • Gathers complex commercial requirements across quoting, contracting, and adjacent processes, translating them into clear, actionable user stories.

  • Acts as the direct technical liaison, bridging affiliate business needs and our global/offshore managed services.

  • Proactively identifies business needs and proposes high-impact technical solutions.

  • Aligns regional Q2C processes with system-supported global standards, constructively challenging local deviations while advocating for legitimate regional needs.

  • Partners closely with IT leads and business leads on strategic prioritization and orienting demand towards delivering the highest value.

  • Supports change management by providing training content, user documentation, and ongoing technical guidance to enable smooth business adoption.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • 5+ years as a Business Analyst, Functional Consultant, or similar role in enterprise IT, preferably in commercial operations, CPQ, or Q2C domains.

  • Hands-on experience with Conga CPQ and Salesforce (SFDC) is highly beneficial. Experience with SAP SD/CRM or Apttus is a plus.

  • Familiarity with Jira for agile delivery and exposure to SAP S/4HANA.

  • Deep functional and technical knowledge of the Quote-to-Contract (Q2C), Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ), and Commercial Sales domains.

  • Proven track record of managing complex BA workstreams independently, driving regional rollouts, and executing localization system configurations.

  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted stakeholder relationships at multiple levels, with excellent communication skills bridging business and technical language.

  • Experience in matrixed, global organizations with distributed delivery teams; self-starter capable of operating independently.'
