Job description

Virtual Care Opportunity – Physicians | Baltimore Area

Internal Medicine  |  Baltimore, Maryland  |  Part-Time / Contract

I'm working with a company that has developed a telemedicine platform focused on caring for seniors living at home, and they're looking to connect with Internal Medicine physicians, Hospitalists, or similar backgrounds who may be interested in building a virtual care practice. We are looking for physicians with a background in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Geriatrics who are interested in using technology to expand access to care for older adults.

Looking for a Physician to serve as an independent contractor, with a private practice with contracts with local payers (commercial insurance, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid managed care, or other regional health plans)

To help seniors stay healthier at home while reducing unnecessary hospitalizations, they combine:

  • Remote patient monitoring
  • Chronic care management
  • Scheduled virtual visits

The infrastructure is already built. The company provides technology, patient onboarding, compliance, and billing support, allowing physicians to focus primarily on clinical care and oversight of their patient panels.

They're working with community partners in the Baltimore area, including housing programs that serve seniors, which helps create a steady pipeline of eligible patients.

This is not a traditional employed role. Physicians contract with the organization as independent contractors and maintain full clinical autonomy while participating in a growing virtual care program. To participate, physicians must have their own established private practice and hold active contracts with local payers in the Baltimore area.

If the idea of building a virtual practice without the usual administrative headaches is interesting to you, I'd be happy to share more details.

Requirements

  • MD or DO with active Maryland medical license in good standing
  • Background in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or Hospital Medicine
  • Must operate as an independent contractor — this is not an employed position
  • Must have an active, established private practice in the Baltimore metropolitan area
  • Must hold current contracts with local payers (commercial insurance, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid managed care, or other regional health plans)
  • Must maintain professional liability coverage under your own policy
