Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: 5 days per week

Position to start in October 2026 (maternity leave coverage for 12-18 months, with the possibility of an extension based on business needs).

Position Overview

The Pharmacy Data Entry Assistant is a detail-oriented, efficient and versatile team member who plays a key role in supporting Technicians, Pharmacists and other Assistant staff. This position has a fundamental role in patient triaging, patient care and creating a comfortable environment for all individuals entering the Pharmacy. The role handles front-of-house customer service while maintaining a focus on critical Pharmacist support with data entry. Working closely with the Pharmacy Manager, Assistant Manager, Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technician the Data Entry Assistant helps to ensure efficient workflow, high-quality patient service, and compliance with regulatory and operational standards, including those set by the College of Pharmacists of Alberta.

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)


Leadership & Supervision

  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Support the Lead Assistant in carrying out site-level programs, workflows, and organizational rollouts (e.g., new initiatives) ensuring frontline engagement.
  • Participate in monthly staff meetings bringing forward assistant concerns and inquiries.
  • Participate in site leadership check-ins, huddles, or implementation touchpoints as required.


Operational Support

  • Primary responsibility in data entry.
  • Primary responsibility in front store stock management, product maintenance and store aesthetic.
  • Hold personal responsibility in maintaining an adequate and efficient workflow in the pharmacy at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with staff on a scheduled basis (on average once per month) to run weekend/holiday (1 hour/day, remote in from home) batches for Signature Supports.
  • Maintain a clean intake area (e.g. empty shredding bins, empty intake garbage, clean intake station surfaces as needed) supporting a healthy work environment.
  • Support Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians with continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support travel Nurse in travel medicine with daily appointment tasks including travel folder maintenance (supplies and folder information assembly), checking in appointments prior to appointments, gathering pertinent information for patient charts, and checking out patients at the end of the appointment.
  • Primary role in store email management.
  • Work with Assistant Manager to schedule regular social media posts to showcase new stock, upcoming events and important information pertaining to the Sterling location.


Inventory & Supply Chain

  • Support Pharmacy Assistant in putting out stock orders, facing and cleaning front store shelves, overstock maintenance and stock vendor oversight.


Communication & Collaboration

  • Provide Patient Centered Care by implementing fast patient greetings, check-outs and triaging as needed.
  • Collaborate routinely with other team members.
  • Maintain clear communication with the Dispensary Pharmacy team and actively participate in fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.


Professional Development

  • Stay current on changes in scope of practice, pharmacy standards, and technology.
  • Bring forward learning opportunities of interest.
  • Complete Sigvaris Support Stocking training course.
