About Mint Health + Drugs

Mint Health + Drugs is an award-winning, pharmacist-led healthcare organization. Our purpose is simple: to help people access the care, service, and support they need in the communities we serve.

We are deeply committed to patient-centered care, innovation, and mentorship. As a student on our team, you will receive hands-on, patient-facing opportunities to expand your clinical skills, work with cutting-edge practices, and learn from experienced pharmacy professionals in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Dispensing & Clinical Support (Under Pharmacist Supervision)

  • Prescription Processing: Accurately enter new prescriptions, refills, and medication profile updates into the pharmacy software (Kroll).
  • Medication Preparation: Assist in counting, packaging, labeling, and assembling medications, including compliance/blister packaging.
  • Clinical Checks & Compounding: Perform initial checks on medications and assist with basic non-sterile compounding and repackaging under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

Patient Care & Communication

  • Customer Service: Greet patients warmly, answer incoming phone calls, and triage general inquiries while maintaining strict patient confidentiality (adhering to FOIP/HIA standards).
  • Patient Counselling: Provide counseling on prescription medications, over-the-counter (OTC) products, and health aids under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.

Pharmacy Operations

  • Inventory Management: Receive, unpack, and restock inventory, perform cycle and narcotic counts, and process expired medications.
  • Administrative Support: File hard-copy prescriptions and prepare billing and delivery paperwork.

What You Bring (Qualifications)

  • Education: Currently enrolled in and have completed the 1st or 2nd year of an accredited Canadian Pharmacy degree program (BSP or PharmD).
  • Licensing: Active registration (in good standing) as a Pharmacy Student with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with pharmacy software-experience with Kroll is highly preferred.
  • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, exceptional communication skills, teamwork mindset, and a passion for community healthcare.

Why Join Mint Health + Drugs?

  • Flexible Scheduling: We understand school comes first. We will work with you to design a schedule (part-time or full-time) that fits your academic workload.
  • No Late Nights or Weekends: Enjoy an excellent work-life balance with store hours restricted to Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
  • Mentorship & Growth: Access direct learning opportunities to transition your classroom knowledge into real-world clinical experience.
