What are stairlifts?

Stairlifts are mechanical devices designed to help people with mobility issues move up and down stairs safely and comfortably. They typically consist of a chair or platform attached to a rail that is mounted to the staircase. The user sits on the chair, secures themselves, and then the stairlift carries them along the rail using a motorized system. Stairlifts are commonly used in homes and public buildings to improve accessibility for elderly or disabled individuals. They come in a variety of models to fit straight, curved, or outdoor staircases.
