Events Specialist

Located in Baraboo, Wisconsin, the International Crane Foundation (ICF) is a global leader in the conservation of cranes and the ecosystems, watersheds, and flyways they depend on. With a mission that spans across continents, ICF works through science, education, and partnerships to ensure the survival of these majestic birds. ICF is seeking a detail-oriented and creative Events Specialist to bring our mission to life by planning and executing events that increase public awareness, strengthen donor relationships, and generate critical philanthropic support. The Events Specialist is part of the External Affairs team and ensures that every event-whether in person or virtual-reflects ICF's values, brand, and commitment to excellence. This role will also work closely with many other departments and volunteers.

This is a full-time, salaried position with a range of $52,000-$56,000. It is based at our headquarters in Baraboo, WI and provides the opportunity to work in a hybrid capacity of 2-3 days at home during the week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

In this role, you will oversee every stage of event planning and implementation, from vendor coordination, contract management, budgeting, and timeline development to staffing plans and on-site event support. Working closely with Development and senior leadership, you will create meaningful in-person and virtual experiences that strengthen relationships with donors and supporters while ensuring every event reflects organizational brand standards.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings expertise in event strategy, logistics, and relationship management. You will recruit and manage volunteers and staff, coordinate branded displays and outreach materials for festivals and conservation events across the U.S., and maintain inventories of signage, banners, and promotional materials. This position also leads post-event opportunities and ROI and donor engagement, identifies new speaking and outreach opportunities, and manages Speaker's Bureau logistics. In partnership with cross-functional teams, you will support donor stewardship efforts, oversee event communications, and ensure staff attending external events have the resources needed for successful brand engagement.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in Event Management, Communications, Business Administration, or related field, and at least two years of event planning or project management experience, preferably in a nonprofit or fundraising environment. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with familiarity with event or CRM tools. Evening and weekend availability as needed for events is required as is a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Experience in nonprofit fundraising, volunteer coordination, and a passion for conservation are strongly preferred.Top of Form
