Job Overview

For over 75 years, Modern has been a trusted partner creating extraordinary live events, expos, and exhibits. We are seeking dependable Events & Exhibits Operational Crew Members to assist with event setup, exhibit installation, décor, onsite labor support, and show teardown, while maintaining safety, quality, and professionalism.

This role is ideal if you’re looking for flexible, on call, or supplemental work, want to learn new skills, or prefer a job where every event is different. No experience is required — we provide training, and you’ll gain valuable experience working alongside experienced crew members on real events. Schedules are event-driven and you pick the shifts you want to do. Some team members join us for flexibility alongside other commitments; others grow into more technical or leadership roles — either path is supported here.
Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with event setup, onsite show labor support, and teardown
  • Load and unload trucks, trailers, and event equipment
  • Install pipe and drape, carpet, table skirting, booths, tables, chairs, signage
  • Assemble exhibit structures
  • Support basic electrical and A/V setup (training provided)
  • Follow and mark floor plans and layout instructions
  • Operate hand tools and equipment safely
  • Maintain a clean and organized worksite
  • Follow all safety procedures and report hazards immediately
  • Represent the company professionally with clients, venues, and vendors

Qualifications

  • 18+. No experience required— on-the-job training provided
  • Ability to take direction from Production Managers and Crew Supervisors/Leads and work on a task with a team and independently
  • Experience in events, trade shows, construction, staging, warehouse, or general labor is a plus
  • Ability to lift 50+lbs, bend and crouch down and work on your feet for extended periods
  • Comfortable working early mornings, late nights, weekends, and overtime
  • Willingness and transportation to travel to various in-state event locations
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and able to follow direction
  • Valid driver’s license preferred (not required)
  • Forklift or lift experience a plus (training available)

On-call, part-time, seasonal, flexible

Nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime, with pay, as needed
