Job description

The Demand Planner is responsible for developing accurate demand forecasts, analyzing sales trends, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring optimal inventory levels to support business goals. This role plays a critical part in balancing customer demand with operational capabilities and supporting the companyโ€™s overall supply chain strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Forecasting & Demand Planning
โ€ขย ย  ย Develop, maintain, and improve short-, medium-, and long-term demand forecasts using statistical models, historical data, and market intelligence
โ€ขย ย  ย Analyze sales trends, customer behavior, and product lifecycle patterns to drive forecast accuracy
โ€ขย ย  ย Monitor forecast performance (accuracy, bias) and implement continuous improvements to forecasting processes
โ€ขย ย  ย Manage demand planning for new product introductions, promotions, and product end-of-life transitions

Cross-Functional Collaboration
โ€ขย ย  ย Partner with sales, marketing, operations, planning, and finance to align demand assumptions and gather input on market changes
โ€ขย ย  ย Facilitate regular S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) demand reviews, sharing insights, and validating assumptions
โ€ขย ย  ย Communicate forecast changes, risks, and opportunities to key stakeholders

Inventory Management
โ€ขย ย  ย Translate demand forecasts into inventory requirements to ensure optimal stock availability while minimizing excess and obsolescence
โ€ขย ย  ย Support safety stock and reorder point calculations in collaboration with planning
โ€ขย ย  ย Monitor inventory levels, back orders, and customer service metrics to drive corrective actions

Data Analysis & Reporting
โ€ขย ย  ย Prepare and deliver demand planning reports, dashboards, and KPIs to leadership and operational teams
โ€ขย ย  ย Identify demand drivers, trends, and deviations and recommend actions
โ€ขย ย  ย Maintain data quality within ERP/MRP systems and demand planning tools
โ€ขย ย  ย Other Duties as assigned
ย 

A strong understanding of various ERP systems (like Visual, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) and their modules (including finance, supply chain, and HR) is essential; knowledge of Infor Visual is a bonus
Strong negotiation and contract management skills
Knowledge of international trade, Incoterms, and global logistics
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or related field
3 - 5 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, supply chain planning, or similar roles
Experience with forecasting models, demand planning software, and ERP systems
Experience with S&OP processes, preferred
Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or operations environment, preferred
