Job description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Cash Application Specialist to join a manufacturing organization in Victor, New York on a contract basis. This position focuses on applying customer payments accurately, supporting accounts receivable operations, and helping maintain timely financial records. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working with billing and cash activity, and able to communicate effectively regarding commercial collections.


Responsibilities:

  • Accurately post and apply customer payments received via lockbox (check) and ACH transactions.
  • Process high-volume cash receipts in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
  • Research and resolve unapplied cash, payment discrepancies, and short payments.
  • Reconcile daily cash receipts to bank deposits and customer accounts.
  • Work closely with Accounts Receivable, Collections, and customers to resolve payment issues.
  • Maintain accurate customer account records and support month-end closing activities.
  • Ensure all cash application activities are completed accurately and within established deadlines.
  • Previous experience in a Cash Application Specialist or similar Accounts Receivable role.
  • Hands-on experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
  • Experience processing lockbox (check) payments.
  • Experience applying ACH payments.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
