Preventative Maintenance MechanicLocation: Tampa, FLCompany: Vigo Importing Co., Inc.About UsVigo is a family-owned food manufacturing company dedicated to producing high-quality products with a commitment to safety, consistency, and efficiency. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled Preventative Maintenance Mechanic to join our team and help ensure our equipment operates at peak performance.Position SummaryThe Preventative Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all production equipment. This includes performing regular inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintaining accurate documentation in compliance with audits and regulatory requirements.Our facility includes conveyors, auger fillers, motors, gear boxes, compressors, and other food processing equipment. The ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment, with preference given to those with food industry experience.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for all production equipment.Perform routine inspections, repairs, and adjustments to ensure peak performance.Accurately document maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs in compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime and ensure efficient production.Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment as needed.Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements or replacements when necessary.Work closely with production staff and supervisors to coordinate maintenance without disrupting operations.Ensure compliance with safety standards, GMPs, and company policies at all times.QualificationsProven experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, Industrial Mechanic, or similar role in a manufacturing setting (food industry preferred).Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including conveyors, motors, gearboxes, compressors, and auger fillers.Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.Experience with preventative maintenance programs and record-keeping for audits.Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Familiarity with food safety and manufacturing compliance requirements (preferred).Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.Bilingual (English and Spanish) - PrefferedBenefitsCompetitive pay based on experienceHealth, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off and holidaysProfit SharingHoliday Bonus
