Job description

The Senior Technical Implementation Manager is responsible for leading and delivering tax technology implementation and integration services for customers adopting Bloomberg Tax solutions, including Workpapers and related tax products such as Fixed Assets and tax provision tools. This role focuses on translating complex tax and accounting processes-including fixed asset lifecycle management and depreciation-into effective technical solutions that improve accuracy, efficiency, and adoption.
You will work directly with customer stakeholders to gather and document business, functional, and technical requirements; design and configure solutions; support testing and validation; and deliver training through go-live. This role blends deep tax and accounting knowledge (including ASC 740 and fixed asset tax accounting), technical aptitude, and customer-facing consulting skills, while partnering closely with internal product, engineering, and support teams.

What you will do:

  • Lead customer onboarding and implementation engagements for Bloomberg Tax products, including Tax Workpapers, Fixed Assets, and other supported tax technologies.

  • Serve as the primary customer-facing contact during implementation, building strong relationships, and guiding customers through discovery, configuration, testing, training, and go-live.

  • Gather, analyze, and document customer business processes, tax workflows, fixed asset accounting and depreciation processes, and functional and technical requirements, translating them into solution designs and implementation plans.

  • Design, configure, and support workflows, templates, and integrations that enable data transformation, automation, and efficient tax and fixed asset processes.

  • Support configuration and validation of fixed asset tax data, including asset classifications, book-to-tax differences, depreciation methods, conventions, and lives.

  • Develop and document work plans for complex engagements, including installation, configuration, data conversion, and consulting activities.

  • Deliver customer training through live sessions, demonstrations, and workflow-based instruction to support adoption and best practices across tax provision, workpapers, and fixed assets.

  • Coordinate and execute testing of configurations, workflows, and solution tools to ensure customer requirements and acceptance criteria are met.

  • Troubleshoot functional and technical issues during implementation and partner with internal teams to resolve complex or escalated issues.

  • Work effectively on team-based engagements while independently managing assigned implementation activities and deliverables.

  • Maintain current knowledge of tax industry practices, tax provision, workpaper, and fixed asset accounting and depreciation rules, and relevant technologies used by accounting and tax organizations.

  • Identify opportunities to improve implementation methodology, customer adoption, and overall delivery quality.

You need to have:

  • 7 years' experience in an appropriate combination of technical business analyst expertise including gathering and writing customer business processes and requirements, solution design, evaluation criteria and test plans.

  • 5 years' Services implementation experience in a software or financial applications development environment.

  • Strong background in tax and accounting concepts, with the ability to understand complex tax challenges and translate them into practical technical solutions.

  • Expertise in or strong experience with ASC 740 and tax provision concepts.

  • Demonstrated experience gathering detailed customer requirements, evaluating design alternatives, developing solutions, and validating outcomes.

  • Experience translating business, tax, and fixed asset accounting processes into functional and technical requirements for automation and integration.

  • Familiarity with tax and finance applications such as Corptax, ONESOURCE, and fixed asset tax systems.

  • Hands-on experience using data transformation and analysis tools such as Excel, Alteryx, SQL, or similar technologies.

  • Strong customer-facing consulting skills, including leading discovery sessions, requirements workshops, training sessions, and implementation meetings.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both customers and internal teams.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple customer engagements and priorities.

Preferred / Nice-to-have Experience

  • Experience working with public accounting firms, corporate tax departments, or tax technology users.

  • Exposure to tax workpapers, tax provision, compliance, and related accounting workflows.

  • Hands-on experience with fixed asset tax accounting, including asset capitalization, disposals, transfers, and reconciliation of book-to-tax differences.

  • Corporate tax return preparation experience, including U.S. international and state tax exposure.

  • Advanced knowledge of federal and state depreciation rules.

  • CPA designation.

This role emphasizes strong tax and fixed asset technical knowledge paired with practical implementation and customer engagement skills, enabling successful adoption of Bloomberg Tax solutions across a broad range of customer environments.
