Job description

About Campfire
Campfire is the AI-native ERP for high-growth mid-market companies. We automate the work that slows finance teams down - transaction categorization, bank reconciliation, revenue recognition, and reporting - so they can stop building spreadsheets and start driving the business. Our platform includes Core Accounting, Revenue Automation, Ember AI, and our Accounting Intelligence foundation model.
The Role
We're looking for a Head of Implementations to own and scale our customer onboarding function. You'll lead a team of Implementation Managers, own the methodology that gets customers live on Campfire quickly, and serve as the connective tissue between Sales, Product, and Customer Success.
What You'll Own
Team Leadership
  • Hire, develop, and retain a team of Implementation Managers across a range of experience levels
  • Set performance standards, run structured 1:1s, and create clear career paths within the implementation function
  • Build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement on your team

Implementation Excellence
  • Own Campfire's implementation methodology end-to-end: kickoff, configuration, data migration, user training, go-live, and handoff to Customer Success
  • Develop and maintain implementation playbooks, templates, and documentation so the team can deliver consistently at scale
  • Drive down time-to-value without sacrificing quality or customer experience

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Sales on pre-sales scoping, project estimates, and clean handoffs at close
  • Create a tight feedback loop with Product and Engineering - surface patterns from the field that should inform the roadmap
  • Work with Customer Success to ensure a seamless transition post go-live and drive long-term retention

Metrics & Operations
  • Own implementation KPIs: time-to-live, implementation CSAT, on-time delivery rate, and team utilization
  • Identify bottlenecks, iterate on process, and report on implementation health to leadership

What We're Looking For
Required
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or ERP implementation, with meaningful time in a client-facing or professional services role
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing implementation or solutions teams, including hiring and developing talent
  • Hands-on experience implementing accounting or ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Workday, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) - you should be comfortable discussing chart of accounts design, close processes, revenue recognition, and data migration
  • Deep accounting fluency; you can credibly advise CFOs and Controllers on how to structure their accounting workflows in Campfire
  • Strong project management instincts - you stay on top of timelines, proactively surface risk, and keep customers and internal stakeholders aligned
  • Excellent communicator; able to build trust quickly with customers and collaborate effectively across product, engineering, and go-to-market teams

Preferred
  • CPA or equivalent accounting credential
  • Background in a Big 4, national accounting firm, or management consulting firm, combined with SaaS or fintech experience
  • Experience building or scaling an implementation function in a high-growth startup environment
  • Familiarity with multi-entity consolidation, revenue recognition (ASC 606), or complex intercompany accounting

What Success Looks Like in Year One
  • Your team consistently delivers implementations on time and customers go live with confidence in Campfire
  • You've documented the playbook and created training materials that make it easy to onboard new IMs
  • You've reduced average time-to-live without increasing post-launch support burden
  • You're a trusted partner to Product - your field insights are actively shaping the roadmap
  • Customers who graduate from implementation are set up for long-term success

This position is based in San Francisco, CA and is an in-office role.
