About the Role

Project Manager
Duration - 6-9 month contract to possible hire
Location - Remote - must sit in EST
Overview:
Our client, a leading healthcare solutions organization, is seeking an experienced Medicaid Implementation Project Manager to lead complex, multiworkstream implementations across state Medicaid programs. This is a fully remote role supporting a highvisibility initiative with direct impact on healthcare access, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
This position is ideal for someone who has deep Medicaid operational experience (claims, appeals, grievances, provider operations, etc.) and has transitioned into implementation work, bringing both subjectmatter expertise and project leadership to the table.
Position Responsibilities
Lead full lifecycle Medicaid implementation projects, from initiation through golive and stabilization.
Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and deliverables using MS Project or similar PPM tools.
Partner with business and technical teams to translate Medicaid operational requirements into actionable implementation plans.
Facilitate crossfunctional meetings, status updates, risk/issue management, and stakeholder alignment.
Ensure compliance with state Medicaid regulations, operational standards, and contractual obligations.
Drive readiness activities including UAT, training, operational workflows, and postimplementation support.
Maintain clear documentation, reporting, and communication across all project phases.
Serve as a subjectmatter liaison between business operations and implementation teams.
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of total Project Management experience, with a strong focus on Medicaid implementations.
Recent Medicaid implementation experience is mandatory.
Candidates must have moved from Medicaid business operations (claims, appeals, grievances, provider services, etc.) into implementation not the reverse.
Strong understanding of Medicaid operational workflows, state requirements, and regulatory nuances.
Handson experience with project tracking tools such as MS Project, Planview, or other PPM systems.
Proven ability to manage complex, multistakeholder projects with tight deadlines.
Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholdermanagement skills.
Bonus / Preferred Skills
Experience with behavioral health implementations or behavioral health program operations.
Experience with Planview for project portfolio management.
Background working with MCOs, state Medicaid agencies, or healthcare technology vendors.
PMP, CSM, or other project management certifications.
