Position Summary

The Implementation Manager - Firm Transitions & Advisor Succession is responsible for delivering a high-touch, white-glove experience for financial advisors transitioning within AssetMark or undergoing succession events on the platform. This role serves as the central project manager and coordination lead for broker-dealer changes, RIA launches, firm moves, and advisor succession events such as book acquisitions or internal advisor transfers. The Implementation Manager works closely with advisors, broker-dealers, custodians, and internal AssetMark teams to plan, prepare documentation, set expectations, and manage the transition lifecycle from initial planning through successful completion. This role plays a critical part in ensuring advisors experience a smooth, organized, and well-communicated transition within the AssetMark platform, while also strengthening partnerships with broker-dealers and supporting advisor growth initiatives.

We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to our Phoenix, AZ office.

Key Responsibilities

Advisor Transition Planning

  • Lead pre-transition planning sessions with advisors and their teams to prepare for transition by setting up platform agreements, agent codes, etc.
  • Develop structured transition timelines and project plans for each advisor or firm event
  • Set clear expectations regarding billing, documentation, timelines, and transition milestones
  • Identify operational dependencies and potential risks early in the process

Succession & Book Transfer Support

  • Coordinate succession-related transitions including advisor retirements, book sales, and internal advisor transfers on the platform
  • Work with advisors to facilitate the smooth transfer of existing AssetMark accounts to successor advisors
  • Ensure proper documentation and approvals are completed to support succession events

Documentation & Paperwork Preparation

  • Prepare and organize AssetMark and broker-dealer paperwork packages required for advisor onboarding and account movement
  • Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and ready for advisor and client signatures
  • Coordinate with internal operations and compliance teams to resolve documentation issues proactively

Project Management & Execution

  • Track all transition activities and milestones throughout the transition lifecycle
  • Monitor the progress of advisor onboarding, account transfers, and documentation processing
  • Provide regular updates to advisors and internal stakeholders regarding transition status
  • Troubleshoot issues and coordinate solutions across internal teams and external partners

Broker-Dealer & Partner Coordination

  • Serve as a liaison between AssetMark, broker-dealer partners, and advisor teams during transition events
  • Coordinate workflows and timelines with BD transition teams and custodians
  • Help strengthen operational alignment with key broker-dealer partners

Advisor Experience & Communication

  • Act as the advisor's primary point of contact during transition events
  • Deliver a white-glove experience through proactive communication and structured project management
  • Ensure advisors feel supported and informed throughout the transition process

Process Improvement & Program Development

  • Help develop and refine AssetMark's advisor transition and succession processes
  • Document best practices and contribute to the development of a repeatable transition playbook
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through process enhancements or technology

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in wealth management operations, onboarding, and/or advisor transitions
  • Strong understanding of broker-dealer and RIA transition processes
  • Experience working with custodians, advisors, and broker-dealer operations teams
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple complex advisor transitions simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and relationship-management skills
  • High attention to detail and operational accuracy

Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $85,000-$95,000.

This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.
