Description
We are looking for a Rising Star who sees the value in mentorship and wants to learn and grow personally and professionally.
Our firm is led by Judge Raisa Cohen, a retired Immigration Judge who believes in supporting her team through mentorship and learning.
She brings a 360-degree view of how cases are evaluated, how DHS builds and argues a case, how an Immigration Judge analyzes the record, and which subtle details and legal nuances can change the trajectory of an outcome. This is a rare opportunity to learn immigration law from someone who has seen the system from the inside.

What you'll do
  • Draft and review legal filings (motions, briefs, affidavits, supporting evidence)
  • Prepare cases for court with a strategy-first approach
  • Work closely with Judge Cohen on case theory, weaknesses, and opportunities
  • Communicate with clients and guide them through complex processes
  • Support intake and case planning for an immigration practice

Who we're looking for
  • Strong legal writing and attention to detail
  • Organized, proactive, and able to manage deadlines
  • Comfortable learning fast and taking feedback directly
  • Immigration experience is a plus (but not required if your fundamentals are strong)

Qualifications
• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in any U.S. state
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in immigration law, with exposure to both EOIR litigation and USCIS practice
• Strong oral advocacy skills, with confidence in courtroom and interview settings
• Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills
• Bilingual proficiency (Spanish or Russian preferred but not required)
• Deep commitment to immigrant rights and passion for fighting for clients under threat of removal
