Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Affirmative Attorney to join our thriving legal team in our Fairfax, VA, or Silver Spring, MD office. The Affliative Immigration Attorney will work on cases including asylum, VAWA, U Visas, T Visas, naturalization, adjustments of status, and waivers. This role offers the opportunity to specialize in areas such as Affliative Immigration, Defensive Immigration, Employment-Based Immigration, Litigation, or Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) cases.


This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Fairfax, VA or Silver Spring, MD with the expectation of on -site presence three days a week.


As a valued member of our firm, you will



  • Manage your own caseload while meeting case progression benchmarks.

  • Collaborate closely with paralegals and fellow attorneys to ensure seamless case handling.

  • Participate in firm committees under the guidance of firm partners, contributing to the firm's operations and success.

  • Enjoy a hybrid work model, blending flexibility with opportunities to meet clients and attend in-office events.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis for immigration law cases.

  • Prepare and draft legal documents and correspondence with precision and attention to detail.

  • Provide effective guidance and support to clients throughout the immigration process.

  • Lead and manage multiple case files with strong organizational skills.

  • Collaborate with team members to enhance legal strategies and case outcomes.

  • Stay updated on evolving immigration laws and policies to ensure compliance.


Qualifications

  • Active VA bar membership.

  • 0-3 years of experience in SIJS and immigration law.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills .

  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.

  • High level of attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

  • Strong teamwork and leadership skills.

  • Proficiency in conducting thorough legal research using legal platforms .


Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in Spanish and/or other languages.

  • Additional experience in specific immigration law specialties or areas of practice.
