Electrician Helper

This position will assist in a variety of tasks associated with the installation, repair, and maintenance of traffic signals and related equipment, including assisting and working with the underground crews. Ideal candidates will exhibit good working habits, show initiative, and possess the desire and willingness to be trained.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Pulling, measuring, cutting, and bending wire.
  • Installing conduit and pull boxes.
  • Assist with building electrical services.
  • Assist with on-site work duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must possess a current DOT Medical Card or acquire one as part of pre-employment screening
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally.

Education & Experience:

  • Basic knowledge of electrical design concepts and techniques.

Pre-Screen:

  • Upon offer, employees may be required to subject and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

License & Certifications:

  • A valid driver's license is required.

Physical Requirements:

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Safety:

Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.
