We are actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our innovative telehealth team at South Central Behavioral Health Center. This full-time position offers the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to provide high-quality telehealth services from the comfort of your home while connecting with clients in need. You will adhere to a structured work schedule from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some flexibility required to meet the specific scheduling needs of your clients. • Conduct comprehensive and culturally sensitive mental health assessments for clients, considering their unique experiences and backgrounds.
• Develop tailored treatment plans based on assessments, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions that respect client diversity.
• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions that address various mental health issues while promoting resilience and emotional well-being.
• Collaborate seamlessly with our team of psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals to coordinate comprehensive care strategies.
• Provide crisis intervention services, ensuring timely and effective support during mental health emergencies.
• Educate clients and their families about mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and community resources for additional support.
• Maintain rigorous documentation of patient interactions in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
• Regularly participate in case conferences, team meetings, and ongoing cultural competency training to expand knowledge and improve care delivery.
• Stay current with the latest research, treatment practices, and cultural considerations relevant to mental health therapy.

In this role, you will serve a diverse patient population, including individuals from various cultural backgrounds, ethnic minorities, the LGBTQ+ community, and immigrants. Your expertise will play a crucial part in tailoring mental health interventions that are both effective and culturally sensitive, contributing to improved mental health outcomes for underrepresented groups.

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Possess a current and valid license as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment techniques, and culturally responsive therapy practices.
• Proven experience in providing both individual and group therapy, with a focus on inclusivity and cultural relevance.
• Strong crisis intervention skills, ability to maintain professionalism in high-stress situations, and excellent problem-solving capabilities.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an aptitude for building rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and familiarity with telehealth technologies.
• Commitment to ethical practices, professional boundaries, and client confidentiality.
• A collaborative mindset, ready to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

• Experience working in telehealth or remote mental health service provision is highly desirable.
• Additional certifications in trauma-informed care or specific therapeutic modalities are a plus.
• Fluency in multiple languages is an advantage, enhancing our capacity to serve diverse populations.
