Position Overview

We are actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our innovative telehealth team at South Central Behavioral Health Center. This role is integral to providing effective and culturally competent mental health treatment to a diverse array of clients, ensuring that each individual receives personalized care that addresses their unique needs.

Work Environment

This full-time position offers the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to provide high-quality telehealth services from the comfort of your home while connecting with clients in need. You will adhere to a structured work schedule from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some flexibility required to meet the specific scheduling needs of your clients. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive and culturally sensitive mental health assessments for clients, considering their unique experiences and backgrounds.
  • Develop tailored treatment plans based on assessments, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions that respect client diversity.
  • Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions that address various mental health issues while promoting resilience and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with our team of psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals to coordinate comprehensive care strategies.
  • Provide crisis intervention services, ensuring timely and effective support during mental health emergencies.
  • Educate clients and their families about mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and community resources for additional support.
  • Maintain rigorous documentation of patient interactions in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
  • Regularly participate in case conferences, team meetings, and ongoing cultural competency training to expand knowledge and improve care delivery.
  • Stay current with the latest research, treatment practices, and cultural considerations relevant to mental health therapy.

Qualifications
  • Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Possess a current and valid license as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment techniques, and culturally responsive therapy practices.
  • Proven experience in providing both individual and group therapy, with a focus on inclusivity and cultural relevance.
  • Strong crisis intervention skills, ability to maintain professionalism in high-stress situations, and excellent problem-solving capabilities.
