Job description
The IRE program includes day labor outreach and workers' rights programming. The IRE Program Manager will also manage the program's marketing (in alignment with the agency), social services, education, leadership, member development, and the program's organizing and civic engagement activities. This individual will manage the IRE Team - while supporting a broad range of volunteers, members, and coalition partners. Job Responsibilities: Program Leadership and Administration Crafting and updating the overall program vision and strategy in close collaboration with the Executive Director, ensuring that the program meets the community's needs and addresses its highest priority unmet needs. Monitoring and reporting on program delivery and program quality by collecting data and tracking indicators and outcomes.
Responsible for accurate data entry and reporting; works with the Executive Director on grant reporting and provides all necessary data and narratives needed for grant reports. Engaging in collective organization-wide visioning, strategic planning, programmatic decision-making, and other organizational culture-building activities. Supporting the development of a growing program with creativity and innovation Attending meetings with external organizations to find points of collaboration and advocacy that could benefit the SLHP community. Supporting other SLHP staff/programs as needed with both direct services and feedback/problem-solving, as well as helping with organizational events as needed (e.g. community events, volunteer recruitment fairs, etc). Team Management Serve as a manager, mentor and coach to the IRE team - including: Providing 1:1 supervision and support to staff members weekly. Actively monitor the work of team members and ensure that they have the skills, training, support and supervision to function effectively in their roles. Leading regular team meetings that provide an opportunity for your team to gather, collaborate, team build, and problem-solve on challenges facing your program. Conduct annual performance evaluations of team members Conduct work in accordance with SLHP Employee Handbook. IRE-Specific Program Activities - Day Labor Street-based Outreach Participate in and supervise the day labor outreach program activities. Ensure that activities performed are properly documented and that all incidents, events, problems, and conflicts are documented by staff and provide conflict resolution support as needed. Using organizational templates, create relevant written and visual materials for weekly day labor outreach and workshops during member meetings. Work with IRE staff to identify, recruit and develop workers to participate in program activities. Oversee workers rights education and maintain monthly legal partnership collaboration. Day Labor Membership Activities Plan, implement and oversee program activities calendar that includes but is not limited to: member meetings, annual retreat, and advocacy activities. Create an annual marketing plan with day labor employment advocates to obtain potential employers, allies and new member participants Supervise and participate in the new member orientation process to support new members to integrate into the group. Create ongoing member support activities (i.e., 1:1 meetings to increase interpersonal communication skills and other soft skills related to accountability and group dynamics). Follow up with, implement, and evaluate agreements when necessary, as discussed with day laborers and staff in general assembly meetings. Support job referral and placement as needed during high-volume placement times.
● Developing evaluation tools that monitor member progress, member retention, employment linkage and leadership activities. Advocacy and Organizing Participate in current coalition tables pertaining to the IRE program and continue to cultivate relationships with allies and foster points of collaboration to bring resources to day laborers. In collaboration with the Executive Director work closely with the ACILEP coalition to oversee daily activities and operations and organization strategy on outreach education, community care navigation, and advocacy strategies. Lead activities with IRE staff to nurture leadership development by promoting and encouraging civic participation and democratic decision-making practices with the OWC members. Develop new or strengthen existing strategic alliances with community partners local businesses, governmental agencies, educational institutions, and other community-based organizations. Required Skills Strong oral and written communication skills required. Able to work independently with a high level of self-direction and initiative required, as well as an ability to maintain a high level of organization. Maintain a positive attitude even during tough moments - remain patient, courteous, and flexible, and work collaboratively with a creative problem-solving approach. Demonstrate sound judgment, decision-making, and effective communication. Experience with Google Suite Apps (Word processing, Google sheets, Google Drive) as well as Social Media tools for outreach and marketing efforts. Excellent conflict resolution/mediation and group facilitation skills are a must. Required Qualifications Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English required Prior experience working on related topics, including immigrant rights; workers' rights; social services; advocacy and organizing; street-level outreach, or other related fields. Management experience with a track record of successfully supporting, coaching, and supervising staff. Possess a valid CA Drivers License Experience and cultural competence in working with undocumented, low-to-no literacy, and/or limited English populations. Ability to work at flexible hours - including early mornings and weekends as needed Demonstrated commitment to diversity, integrity, and a personal approach that values all individuals and respects differences regarding race, ethnicity, age, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, religion, ability, socio-economic circumstance, immigration status, and record of arrest or conviction. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of popular education methodology preferred. Experience with database management, data analysis and evaluation is desired. Compensation and benefits: $72,000- $75,000/year. Street Level Health Project provides full Benefits (medical, dental, vision, vacation, and sick leave) with the potential for an increase in pay based on experience.
