Job description


The Contracts Specialist is responsible for reviewing the contents of project-specific construction subcontract agreements and making necessary changes for work to be performed. This role will also involve negotiating with customers regarding revisions to subcontract agreements and will assist the Contracts Manager in providing support to corporate operations.
The compensation for this position will be commensurate with education or work experience.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Develops and executes a 1-year business plan ensuring alignment with the overall corporate strategic plan and immediate manager's business plan.
  • Reviews, redlines, and negotiates, Master Service Agreements, Subcontracts, and Purchase Orders submitted by clients to conform with internal company risk mitigation factors.
  • Reviews and obtains specialized insurance certificates from client submitted requirements.
  • Prepares and completes Owner Controlled Insurance Program enrollments through multiple external administrators, while confirming internal company risk mitigation factors are met.
  • Clearly explains contract terminology to clients and other interested parties in simple, everyday language.

What You'll Need for Success:
  • Some higher education preferred, but not mandatory; high school diploma required.
  • Two (2) or more years of contract/legal experience or Construction management experience
  • Knowledge of current and legally binding contractual language and terminology.
  • Knowledge of negotiation best practices, both in-person and in written form, that considers cultural norms, and the client's best interests.
  • Strong computer proficiency with a variety of software applications, including MS-Office Suite and PDF software and excellent typing skills.
