Job description

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10am - 6:30pm. 100% On-Site.
Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the communities served by Travis Credit Union, which include the following counties: Alameda, Colusa, Contra Costa, Merced, Napa, Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, and Yolo. For hybrid and remote roles, candidates are still required to reside within a commutable distance of our corporate headquarters in Vacaville, California.

Summary: Central Operations management is responsible for effective leadership of the Image Capture and Electronic Services teams. These teams ensure the successful management of all inbound and outbound checks and images, along with ACH and wire transfers from all channels, including branch, digital, and ATM. As a result, the Central Operations team provides critical support for the success of TCU and its members.

Profile:

  • Leads, motivates and directs the Central Operations staff to ensure department accuracy and efficiency.
  • Keeps abreast of all current Federal and State laws and regulations pertaining to the department's functions so as to provide timely responsiveness to compliance requirements.
  • Handles difficult and complex member situations.
  • Provides support to member facing staff and assists with difficult transactions, adjustments and exceptions.
  • Supports existing third party software/application resources and tools, ensuring that updates and changes are coordinated with dependency departments.
  • Actively engages with new software/application implementations and responsible for department product training rollout.
  • Owns department-specific vendor relationship management.
  • Responsible for researching and improving department operational processes and procedures.
  • Executes monthly spot audits of staff's data input.

Skills:

  • Sound understanding of credit union products and services.
  • Strong knowledge of systems and applications used for check images, mail processing and check 21 files.
  • Excellent member services skills.
  • Effective, professional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to deal with stressful situations with tact and diplomacy and resolve complex situations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and accurately complete assigned tasks within strict timeframes and meet designated deadlines.
  • Ability to learn new systems and software and act as the subject matter expert.
  • Ability to provide leadership, support, motivation and professional development to staff.
  • Ability to develop teamwork and cooperation amongst staff.
  • Ability to successfully tailor communications according to the audience.
  • Proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Detail-oriented and ensures work is accurate.

Reporting and Experience:

  • Reports directly to the Manager, Central Operations.
  • Direct supervisory responsibilities for assigned Central Operations staff.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years in financial or customer service; or related role.
  • Minimum 1 year in supervisory or leadership role.
