Job description

Axelrode Orthodontics is seeking a skilled and organized Dental Patient Coordinator to join our team. The Dental Patient Coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for patients seeking orthodontic and dental services, ensuring a smooth and positive patient experience. This individual will be responsible for coordinating and managing patient schedules, handling patient inquiries, processing payments, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

This position is full time:

Mon, Tues, Thurs: 8:45am-5:00pm

Wednesday 9:45am-6:00pm

Friday 8:45am-1:00pm

Responsibilities:

  1. Greet and welcome patients in a warm and professional manner, ensuring exceptional customer service.
  2. Answer patient inquiries over phone, email, or in-person, providing accurate and timely information regarding treatment options, appointment availability, and insurance coverage.
  3. Schedule and manage patient appointments, ensuring the most efficient use of the clinic's resources and availability.
  4. Maintain and update patient records, ensuring accurate documentation of personal information, medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  5. Verify insurance coverage and process insurance claims, adhering to all applicable regulations and requirements.
  6. Collect and process patient payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring all accounts are settled in a timely manner.
  7. Coordinate with orthodontists, dentists, and other dental professionals to ensure seamless coordination of treatments and services.
  8. Assist with treatment plan presentations, explaining treatment procedures, timelines, and costs to patients, ensuring they understand and are comfortable with their recommended treatment plan.
  9. Prepare and maintain inventory of dental supplies, restocking as needed, to ensure uninterrupted patient care.
  10. Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to all privacy and security protocols.

Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  2. Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Dental Patient Coordinator or similar role in a dental or orthodontic practice.
  3. In-depth knowledge of dental terminology, orthodontic procedures, treatment plan coordination, and insurance protocols.
  4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively address patient inquiries and concerns.
  5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  6. Proficient computer skills and experience with dental practice management software.
  7. Exceptional organization and multitasking skills.
  8. Demonstrated professional demeanor and ability to work effectively within a team.
