Job description

The program manager will assist in the launch of specific turbocharger programs. This role may be located in Shelbyville, IL or Southfield, MI.

PREREQUISITES:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or Program Management

Experience: 2 Years in Project Management, Knowledge in Automotive and/or Commercial Vehicle Segment preferred

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Be comfortable and confident in leading the launch of customer programs from the starting pursuit phase through the start of production.

Must be very well organized and proficient in creating and updating timing charts in Excel, Project, and other program timing software.

Set and lead internal IHI and external joint IHI-customer weekly recurring meetings to update project status.

Proactively assign program phase tasks to the IHI engineering, manufacturing, operations, quality, purchasing and sales teams and holding them responsible for completing their tasks on time.

Practice professional acumen when using influence and persuasiveness to hold both IHI and customer team members responsible for completing their tasks on time.

Provide high level status updates on short notice to IHI team and upper-level managers when requested.

Knowledge of industry standard program launch phase gate system and project milestones (Concept Validation, Design Validation, APQP, Process Validation, PPAP, etc.) is desirable.

Flexibility in work schedule to support evening meetings with IHI team members and suppliers located in the APAC region when necessary.

The pay range provided represents the expected compensation for this position. Actual pay will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications, while maintaining fairness with internal pay structures. We ensure compliance with all applicable wage and hour laws, including those related to minimum pay requirements.
