Job Summary

The Quality Supervisor for Electrical Test Lab is responsible for leading all testing, inspection, and validation activities associated with high-voltage (HV) and medium-voltage (MV) copper cable products. This role ensures that cable products meet customer specifications, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality objectives through the execution of electrical, mechanical, and process validation testing. The supervisor leads a team of technicians and test operators, manages laboratory and production test equipment, ensures compliance with safety requirements, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to optimize quality, efficiency, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manages the operation, training, and performance of maintenance on all Electrical Test equipment including Faraday Cage, AC and DC test equipment, De-ionized Water system, and testing procedures
  • Responsible for team development, drives team performance to ensure all Finished Goods daily and monthly goals are met or exceeded
  • Strong working knowledge of ICEA, IEC, and AEIC industry regulations
  • Ensures the right people, skills, and materials are in place to support electrical test operations
  • Ensures Electrical Test department has a steady supply of raw materials, consumables, and equipment to prevent any delays in testing
  • Daily engagement with Material Test and Operations for samples, test failures, and management of non-conformances
  • Leads fault detection efforts for all cable failures to properly identify fault location; works with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot and address root cause of faults
  • Primary Point of Contact for all witness testing of cables performed at the Southwire Huntersville facility
  • Key member of development team assisting Design Engineers in validation and factory acceptance testing of new cable configurations and prototypes
  • Ensures timely completion of all IFE's and Safety Interactions
Required Education & Experience

Minimum Education Level: High School Diploma

Years of Experience: 5-7 Years

Field of Expertise: HV and MV Electrical Test Lab

Preferred Education & Experience

Minimum Education Level: Associateas Degree

Years of Experience: 8-11 Years

Field of Expertise: 

Subject Matter Expert (SME) for electrical testing of AC and DC cables (and test lab equipment)
