Job description


POSITION SUMMARY 

The 2nd shift Shipping& Receiving Clerk is responsible for maintaining inventory counts and quality control procedures for incoming and outgoing product shipments. Their duties include checking incoming shipments against invoices/BOL, keep track of shipment schedules for both incoming and outgoing shipments. Check the items in inventory for damages or discrepancies. 


Hours are 1:00 pm EST. to 11:00 pm EST.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Follow IFCO guidelines concerning Drivers/Shipping/Receiving
  • Follow all procedures/policies/SOP’s involving data entry for Production, Shipments, and Recollections and document controls/retention
  • Verifies and records all items loaded for shipments
  • Carefully and accurately maintains shipping records for requested categories including goods returned, damage, and returnable shipments
  • Maintains database of shipment data to ensure that orders are updated and that appropriate billing documents are as required
  • Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions
  • Prepares bills of lading for shipments
  • Completes information on damage claims for in-transit damage
  • Performs other clerical duties as needed


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in general office administration 
  • 1+ years of experience in Shipping & Receiving Department preferred
  • Previous face to face customer service experience
  • Basic to intermediate experience in Microsoft Excel
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Filling

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment 
  • Proven planning and organizational skills with the ability to handle high volume operational requirements
  • Demonstrated successes in handling multiple projects, in addition to normal responsibilities
  • Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received
