Job description

Atlas Roof Wall & Insulation - a Division of Atlas Roofing Corporation - specializes in the manufacture of quality engineered polyiso insulation, specialty products, and accessories. Atlas Roof Insulation & Wall Insulation products lead the industry in polyiso insulation boards and facer technology and performance in commercial and residential buildings.
Atlas is seeking a Health Safety and Environmental/Purchasing Manager for the Camp Hill, PA. polyiso foam manufacturing facility.
Purchasing Manager
  • Order direct and indirect materials required to support manufacturing/plant
  • Manage OSB / Plywood cost and report to corporate monthly
  • Generate chemical forecast for vendor

Environmental, Health and Safety Manager
  • Delivery monthly safety training for Camp Hill team
  • Manage all SDS
  • Remit new / revised SDS received for the year to IEPA (IDOL) and local fire department annually
  • Maintain 30 plus years of SDS
  • Send a list of SDS from state toxic air substances (IL Public Act 93-240) to state Department of Labor and local fire department list toxic substances in our workplace for prior year.
  • Manage Hazardous Material
  • Complete Hazardous Material training
  • Schedule annual HAZWOPER refresher training
  • Maintain Bill of Lading Manual for Hazardous Materials
  • Manage hazardous waste disposal cost
  • Maintain a minimum of 2 fully qualified Hazardous waste treatment facilities
  • Comply with state RTK Public Act 83-240 (List of Air toxic contaminants)
  • Annual report due within compliance requirements to IEPA on non-hazardous waste removal
  • Record chemical spills beyond the stated clean up quantity, Monitor all spills that require outsourcing for cleanup and contact the approved Environmental Management Service
  • Complete reports for environmental and safety (Sara 312 - Tier 2 reported annually), OSHA 300 log and 301 data. Year-end summary signed by Plant Manager.
  • Complete monthly plant safety stats and send to Corporate and Plant Manager
  • Responsible for storm water permit report to be submitted by June 1st and the annual facility inspection report
  • Responsible for the storm water inspection and inform manager of any problems
  • Maintain Air Emissions, waste Cubes to landfill, Chemical usage and gas usage report annually. Copy booklet when received and mail to corporate environmental manager for completion.
  • Report yearend inventory of chemicals, adhesives, aerosols, etc. From R. Report on monthly emissions spreadsheet.
  • Prepare monthly "Cube" waste to landfill in tons report. Include in annual emissions report.
  • Responsible for all Provincial and Federal permits - acquiring, updating and maintaining compliance.
  • Responsible for Employee and Community Right-to-Know report annually and conducting all necessary training and indoctrination.
  • Schedule first aid, CPR and blood refresher training
  • Schedule annual hoist and sling evaluations
  • Responsible for fall protection program for MDI railcar off loading
  • Responsible for the PSM program and maintaining files, procedure review annually, conduct employee training and communicate changes to affected employees (Management of Change).
  • Monitor all maintenance revisions and review their procedures monthly
  • Log and archive all maintenance check sheets for PSM
  • Log and archive all QA check sheets for pentane unloading
  • Maintain current certificates of insurance manual
  • Manage contractor safety
  • Responsible for DOT training requirements for employees handling, shipping or receiving chemicals.
  • Record scheduled machine hours / actual machine hours for the month. Communicate monthly to Plant Manager
  • Maintain inventory of totes for spill remediation/disposal
  • Other duties assigned by Plant Manager
  • Requires consistent physical attendance

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • This position does not currently have supervisory duties.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE (include Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations required)
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school; or at least 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES (include computer, language, mathematical, and analytical skills required)
  • PC Literate, ability to use Excel (spreadsheet), Word, email, Power Point.
  • Ability to learn quickly and retain a large amount of detail regarding customers and products.
  • Ability to speak effectively to employees of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to deal effectively with changes in customer order or demand
  • Ability to communicate clearly both orally and written
  • Utilize PeopleSoft to collect data and manage supplies

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and use hands to feel objects, tools or controls. Also must be able to talk, hear and be able to smell.
  • Frequently required to climb or balance. Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Works near moving mechanical parts and will occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic chemicals and risk electrical shock.
  • Occasionally works in outside weather conditions.
