Job Description: Position Summary Crown Holdings is seeking an experienced Senior Programmer Analyst to join our centralized Information Systems team supporting manufacturing operations across the United States and Canada. This position plays a key role in the development, modernization, enhancement, and support of critical business applications that support customer order management, manufacturing, production control, and financial operations. The ideal candidate combines strong IBM i technical expertise with business analysis skills and a passion for delivering reliable, scalable solutions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. As a senior member of the team, you will work closely with business stakeholders, lead development efforts, mentor team members, and contribute to strategic application modernization initiatives.

What You'll Do
  • Design, develop, test, and support business-critical applications on the IBM i platform.
  • Lead application enhancements and modernization efforts, including RPG IV/ILE to RPG Free conversions.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Support Crown's Customer Order Management System (COMS) and Manufacturing, Production Control, and Accounting Systems (CMPAS).
  • Develop and optimise SQL-based solutions and database structures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while ensuring system stability and performance.
  • Create technical specifications, documentation, test plans, and implementation strategies.
  • Participate in project planning, effort estimation, and technical design reviews.
  • Serve as a technical lead on assigned initiatives and provide guidance to less experienced developers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across manufacturing, finance, customer service, and operations.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation supporting mission-critical business systems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve application performance, reliability, and maintainability.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
  • 7+ years of application development and support experience in an IBM i (AS/400) environment.
  • Strong experience with: RPG Free RPG IV / ILE RPG SQL CL Programming Db2 for i Experience designing, developing, testing, and implementing enterprise business applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, supply chain, customer service, and financial business processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and business teams.
  • Strong Knowledge of APIs, web services, and systems integration.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with application modernization initiatives.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
  • Experience with SharePoint and Microsoft 365 technologies.
  • Knowledge of the Infor Infinium financial suite.
  • Familiarity with IBM Rational Developer for i (RDi).
  • Experience with change management and deployment tools such as TurnOver and Hawkeye.
  • Prior experience mentoring developers and leading technical projects.
