Position Title: Analyst - FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis)

Reports To: Manager, FP&A

Direct Reports: No Functional Unit: Accounting & Finance

FLSA Status: Exempt Position Type: Full-Time

THE CHALLENGE

Onward Energy is seeking a FP&A Analyst with experience in performing budgeting, forecasting, and analysis that support corporate decisions. Utilize both quantitative and qualitative analysis of operations to evaluate the companys progress toward achieving its strategic goals and to map out future goals and plans. In this role, you must be comfortable working under deadlines and with individuals at all levels in the organization.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate on strategic and operational prioritization by performing appropriate financial planning and analysis.
  • Interpret and present financial analysis results to senior management.
  • Design and produce reports, financial and performance indicators to support the business.
  • Analyze and interpret financial and operational data and transfer it into meaningful information used to drive actions and results.
  • Drive cross-functional transparency and cooperation.
  • Support the preparation of presentations for Onwards management team.

THE PROFILE TO SUCCEED

Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, MBA, and/or CFA designation is a plus. One (1) Three (3) years of relevant experience in Power/Energy, Finance, Banking and/or Consulting.

  • Experience with debt compliance (debt coverage ratios), general understanding of contracts/contract language.

  • Strong competencies in FP&A analysis, critical thinking, and a desire to understand the big picture.

  • Ability to perform deep analysis to interpret data to understand the Why?

  • Functional knowledge and competencies in modeling and project finance are a plus.

  • Proficient with MS Office suite applications (Excel, PowerPoint), and budget planning software, ERP systems (Adaptive Planning, Hyperion, Workday, SAP, etc.).

  • Ability to understand GAAP and corporate accounting policies & procedures

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to work cross-functionally and with individuals at all levels of the organization.

  • Keen multi-tasking capabilities and organizational skills; attention to detail.
