Job description

Nestled on the shores of Lady Bird Lake, in the heart of downtown Austin is Hyatt Regency Austin - where caring for people to be their best is our purpose and the foundation of all that we do! We are in search of a talented and passionate General Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering team! 

The General Maintenance Engineer will be responsible primarily for repairs in guest rooms but may assist with maintenance requests in other areas of the hotel. Preventative maintenance in guest rooms and some public area spaces are included. Responsibilities will also include painting, drywall repair, tile repair, wall vinyl repair as needed. Experience involving painting and tile/wall repair strongly preferred.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, occasional overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.

  • Previous General hotel maintenance experience is a plus
  • Experience involving painting and tile/wall repair strongly preferred.
  • 1-2 years of maintenance experience required.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills (electricity, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, etc.)
  • Good communications skills are required.

  • Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, pull, and push a moderate amount of weight.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, occasional overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
