HVAC Sales


HVAC Sales Position Purpose

Reporting to Area Sales Manager, this role is responsible for owning the customer sales experience from initial lead through signed contract. HVAC Sales are responsible for qualifying customer needs, presenting tailored solutions, and closing sales that drive revenue growth for United Air Temp. This role is fully focused on sales excellence, requiring a customer-first mindset, disciplined process execution, and consistent use of sales systems and tools.


HVAC Sales Specific Responsibilities

Manage customer relationships from lead to close, ensuring professional and consultative experiences for same.

Qualify customer needs, explain product and service options, and present customized solutions.

Accurately prepare and deliver proposals using ServiceTitan and other sales systems for prospective customers.

Drive sales results, including closing rate, gross margin, and average ticket size.

Consistently follow SOPs for sales process.

Participate in weekly sales meetings, training, and ride-along sessions with the Area Sales Manager.

Stay current on new product lines, features, and promotions; incorporate into customer proposals.

Ensure accurate and timely entry of customer data, contracts, and notes in ServiceTitan.

Support customer satisfaction through strong communication and follow-up.

Manage open sales leads, ensuring effective follow-up cadences are in place to maximize sales results.

Participating in local/community groups where possible (e.g. Local Chamber of Commerce) to build network and generate leads.

Rigorously follow UCG in-home sales process; offering and selling solutions that are tailored to customer needs.

HVAC Sales will be evaluated against the following Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Average Ticket Amount

Gross Margin on Sales events

Anecdotal feedback received from customers via reviews or direct communications.


HVAC Sales Qualifications

Experience in sales or customer-facing roles, preferably in HVAC or home services.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build trust quickly.

Results-oriented with a proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.

Comfortable with technology and CRM/sales platforms (ServiceTitan experience preferred).

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and accountable to goals.

Advanced presentation skills in a B2C environment, in home sales experience is desirable.

Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.

Ability to maintain composure in critical situations and communicate clearly with both internal and external stakeholders.

Proven ability to build relationships quickly.

Manage relationships; interact with individuals across organizational business units.

High energy and a positive attitude; proactive and focuses on what we "can do."

HVAC Sales Pay Structure

As part of our compensation structure, the commission plan is designed to be clear and rewarding. With a target sales goal of $2 million, on-target earnings typically range from $160K to $220K annually. The plan is uncapped, providing significant upside potential for high performers.
