We’re seeking an HR Specialist to join our team and support our growing organization through hands-on HR operations, recruitment support, and employee lifecycle initiatives.


About the Role

The HR Specialist partners closely with the Senior Human Resources Generalist and supports core HR functions across the employee lifecycle. This is a highly collaborative, detail-oriented role that plays a key part in recruitment, onboarding, payroll support, benefits administration, and HR compliance.

The ideal candidate is organized, service-focused, and comfortable balancing day-to-day HR tasks with project-based work.


What You’ll Do
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, interviews, background checks, and offer coordination
  • Support benefits administration including health, retirement (401(k) and 457(b)), COBRA, and workers’ compensation
  • Support leave administration including FMLA, and ADA
  • Prepare and review time and attendance data to support semi-monthly payroll processing
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation within the HRIS
  • Coordinate and conduct HR onboarding for new hires
  • Support HR projects, reporting, audits, and data requests
  • Assist with job description updates and compliance with employment laws (FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, etc.)
  • Provide ongoing administrative and departmental support as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned. Must adhere to all company policies and procedures and comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control

Requirements:

Required Experience/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 year of previous experience in Human Resources is required.
  • A solid understanding of core HR functions is essential, with particular emphasis on employment law, payroll processing, and HRIS systems.
  • Demonstrate excellent problem-solving, interpersonal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and detail oriented.

Highly Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recruiting/ Talent Acquisition experience is preferred.      
  • Experience within a credit union or banking environment is preferred. 

Education / Certification / Licenses:

  • A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. 
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification is highly desirable.
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may also be considered.
