Job Summary:
The Human Resources Manager is an integral member of the site operations team, serving as the primary onsite HR partner and providing both strategic and day-to-day HR support. Balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution, this role collaborates across multiple onsite teams and navigates complex situations with a strong, customer-focused mindset.
As a member of the Exhibitions Operations HR team, you will be a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, responsible for fostering a positive, compliant, and productive work environment for your client group. This role maintains a consistent onsite presence to support operational needs, provide real-time guidance, and strengthen team engagement. The position reports to the HR Director, Exhibition Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with leaders and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity, and improve retention.
  • Leverage strong interpersonal skills to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations at varying levels of the organization.
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation, advise on location-specific guidance and procedures when applicable.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the employee experience and develop connections with employees through multiple avenues including job shadowing, walking chats and manager-on-duty responsibilities.
  • Support non-exempt employee recruitment activities within the assigned line of business, ensuring a high caliber of talent for current and future needs. Liaise with the corporate recruitment team for exempt employee recruitment activities.
  • Provide guidance regarding performance management, coaching, and employee relations.
  • Support and assist in the resolution of complex employee relations issues.
  • Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Understand business goals and recommends new approaches and methods to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity and development of HR within the company.
  • Support learning and development activities on-site including new hire orientation, HR training and programming and outreach-led activities.
  • Liaise with HR centers of excellence to resolve employee inquiries and issues related to Payroll, Benefits, and Compensation.
  • Drive compliance on-site by maintaining awareness of current and developing state and local statutes related to employment, and employer responsibilities.
  • Train managers and assist with accountability for consistent enforcement of policies within their teams.
  • Submit and manage business processes in Workday, including employee status changes, compensation adjustments, and other HR transactions.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience in a Human Resources Manager or similar HR role.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience managing complex employee relations and conducting investigations.
  • Familiarity with managing leaves of absence and ADA accommodation requests.
  • HR experience supporting a group of 50+ employees.
  • Strong familiarity with the local market, specific to labor and employment issues.
  • Experience working in a hospitality or themed entertainment environment.
  • Proficiency with HR systems, specifically Workday.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, GoogleSuite, Recruiting tools such as LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.
  • Familiarity with scheduling softwares and platforms.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and scanners. This position also works in an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, strong visual effects including strobing lights, special effects, fog machines and small and/ or enclosed spaces.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical ability to walk, stand, take stairs/slides/elevators, and navigate the elements during the day and night. Employee may be required to remain in a sitting or standing position for prolonged periods, and repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Work Schedule:
