Job Description: Human Resource Coordinator

Summary/Objective

The Human Resource Coordinator will work alongside the HR team to execute and optimize human resource operations across all business locations. This position is organized, proactive, and people-oriented to support the daily operations of our HR department. This position is a point of contact for employee inquiries while managing core administrative workflows, including recruiting coordination, new-hire onboarding, benefits tracking, and HRIS data integrity.

The Human Resource Coordinator will be a backup for various other HR functions. This position will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the human resource department. The Human Resource Coordinator may be responsible for confidential and time sensitive material and must be familiar with a variety of human resources and legal concepts, practices, and procedures.

The Human Resource Coordinator will report to the Human Resource Manager and work closely with all departments within the company.


Essential Functions

  • Assists with recruitment and interview process. Tracks status of candidates in HRIS and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process.
  • Responsible for keeping up to date on HR laws that impact the business
  • Files documents into appropriate employee files.
  • Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.
  • Prepare new employee files.
  • Responsible for mandatory HR training as specified by legal requirements, specifically Sexual Harassment Prevention Training
  • Assist in writing and maintaining job descriptions
  • Assist in posting jobs to our website and recruitment sites
  • Works with payroll, accounting, legal and other divisions within the company to exchange data as needed/work on overlapping projects
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Maintains yearly Section 125 plan administration
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Work Environment

Professional office environment. This position requires competency in using standard office equipment and software such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Familiarity with ADP is preferable.


Classification/Expected Hours of Employment

This position is a full-time position and is exempt from minimum wage and overtime pay requirements under federal and all applicable state or local laws. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30pm. There may be work required outside of these hours to get training or other employee related matters completed. There may be travel needed for in person training with employees throughout the organization.


Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 or more years human resources experience required.
  • Knowledge of human resources practices, policies, and regulations.
  • Ability to facilitate training in various formats.
  • Intermediate computer and software skills required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
