The HR Manager is a key strategic partner on the NACF bringing expertise in leadership development, employee experience, culture, and change management. This role balances tactical excellence with strategic insight, leveraging both technology and human judgment to align local leadership, centralized support, and systems in delivering high-quality employee experiences.
You will drive operational excellence through strategic leadership at your site(s), translating priorities into actionable plans while leveraging technology and data to enhance decision-making. Leading a diverse team of HR professionals, you'll balance automation with human insight to drive excellence throughout the employee lifecycle. Success demands operational excellence, leadership presence, and the ability to connect strategic vision to execution.
The HR Manager leads and is responsible for operational excellence and organizational health through strategic PXT leadership and effective people management. They strengthen culture and deliver business results by translating organizational priorities into actionable plans through their site's PXT function. HR Managers execute business goals through hands-on leadership and data-driven decision making, while partnering with business leaders to improve leadership effectiveness and employee experience.
You will be expected to work onsite at an Amazon facility, ensuring personal connection and hands-on leadership where needed.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead a diverse team of HR professionals with varying levels of experience to drive operational excellence through high-judgment decisions, risk mitigation, and employee experience enhancement. Guide your team in ensuring practices comply with company policies, procedures, and federal, state, and provincial laws or regulations, while fostering their professional growth and expertise.
- Partner with Business Leader(s) to strengthen culture and deliver business results. Create an environment where employees feel safe, valued, and respected through data-driven workforce solutions and effective people management practices.
- Drive talent management and development across all levels, establishing mechanisms for equitable selection, retention, and performance optimization. Coach leaders to build high-performing teams and address performance gaps effectively.
- Monitor employee sentiment through regular floor presence, data analysis, and feedback mechanisms. Hold leaders accountable for delivering positive employee experiences and implement targeted action plans to strengthen culture.
- Champion organizational change through effective stakeholder management and change leadership. Engage teams regularly, remove adoption barriers, and model positive behaviors while maintaining strong partnerships across functions.
- Drive adoption and optimization of HR technology solutions to enhance efficiency, data accuracy, and employee experience. Lead the HR team in developing digital fluency, leveraging analytics for decision-making, and utilizing AI to streamline processes while maintaining a human-centered approach.
- Own end-to-end PXT operational excellence through rigorous process execution, structured inspection routines, and effective use of tools and data. Ensure consistent documentation standards and timely issue resolution while escalating systemic concerns appropriately.
A day in the life
Your day will be a dynamic blend of strategic leadership and hands-on people management, requiring excellent organizational and interpersonal skills to manage multiple priorities. You'll regularly engage with teams on the production floor while responding to time-sensitive matters such as employee concerns and investigations.
Using AI-powered analytics and data insights, you'll identify trends and opportunities in areas like attrition, attendance, and engagement. You'll collaborate closely with business leaders, providing strategic guidance while maintaining strong relationships across all levels of the organization. Through these partnerships, you'll drive initiatives that enhance employee experience and strengthen cultural health.
From coaching leadership teams to implementing innovative HR technologies, you'll balance technical expertise with human judgment in complex situations. About the team
Amazon's Fulfillment Centers (FCs) within North American Customer Fulfillment (NACF) are fast-paced environments that utilize robotics, scanning machines, and computer systems that track and allow the delivery of millions of items (and smiles) to households daily.
NACF PXT is a talent cultivator where Amazonians gain a depth of experience and expertise nurtured to grow, flourish and thrive in other business lines across Amazon. Our HR Leaders provide strategic and tactical leadership direction, executing our people initiatives, providing internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement in locations with up to 6,000 associates. NACF's PXT teams are flexible, thoughtful, socially responsible, and are always planning for the future.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
- 5+ years of human resources leadership or a mix of equivalent leadership experiences (e.g., operations, customer service, retail, distribution, shipping/logistics, healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing)
- Demonstrated success achieving department goals through data-driven workforce solutions and HR metrics
- Experience supporting and/or leading employee-focused processes such as onboarding, benefits, investigations, training and/or talent management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's Degree or MBA
- Experience supporting hourly, front-line and salaried employee populations
- Knowledge of employment law, employee relations, and HR compliance
- Experience building, leading, and developing high-performing HR teams through effective coaching, mentoring, and people management
- Expertise in core HR functions including talent lifecycle planning, workforce management, and organizational effectiveness
- Experience resolving sensitive employee relations matters
- Experience in implementing solutions that measurably improve employee experience, engagement, and retention
- Experience driving adoption of technology solutions, with experience leading teams through digital transformation and process improvements
- Experience partnering with, coaching, and guiding senior leaders as a strategic HR business partner

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
