What are the typical challenges a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) faces when managing communication between medical staff and patients?

As a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC), one of the main challenges is ensuring clear and efficient communication between doctors, nurses, patients, and families. HUCs must juggle multiple tasks simultaneously, such as answering phones, relaying messages, and handling patient records, which requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective teamwork and adaptability are key, as priorities can shift quickly in a healthcare setting.
