Position Overview

As a Cashier at Hartville Hardware, you are the final impression a guest takes with them - and that moment matters. Your role is to close every shopping trip on a high note: warm, accurate, efficient, and genuinely friendly. You will process transactions, handle payments, and serve as a trusted point of contact for any last-minute questions or concerns.

This part-time role is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in accuracy, and thrives in a busy, team-oriented environment. No two days are exactly alike at Hartville Hardware, and a great cashier makes that energy feel effortless for every guest who comes through.

What You Will Do
Guest Service
  • Greet each guest with a friendly and welcoming demeanor throughout the checkout process
  • Provide prompt, courteous service that leaves a positive lasting impression
  • Address guest inquiries and resolve issues in a professional and helpful manner
Point-of-Sale Operations
  • Accurately and efficiently process guest purchases using the cash register and electronic systems
  • Handle cash, credit, and other forms of payment accurately and responsibly
  • Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies at all times
  • Process exchanges and returns following established store procedures
Accuracy & Product Knowledge
  • Double-check prices and ensure accuracy throughout each transaction
  • Develop a working knowledge of store products to assist guests with basic inquiries at checkout
  • Collaborate with team members to stay current on promotions and product information
Security & Loss Prevention
  • Adhere to security and loss prevention policies to protect guests, team members, and company assets
  • Monitor and promptly report any suspicious activities to store management
