Position Summary

The HRIS Analyst is responsible for the administration, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's Human Resources Information Systems, with primary ownership of UKG Pro (workforce management, timekeeping, and scheduling). This role supports data integrity, reporting, system integrations, and process automation across a multi-entity, multi-state organization, and serves as the technical point of contact between HR, Payroll, IT, and system vendors. The HRIS Analyst also provides secondary support for Telestaff (fire/EMS scheduling) and ADP as needed.

This is an onsite position at our Huntsville office.

Essential Functions

  • Serve as the primary system administrator for UKG Pro, including configuration of pay rules, timekeeping policies, accruals, workflows, and security/role-based access across all entities and states.
  • Generate, maintain, and distribute recurring and ad hoc reports and extracts from UKG Pro, Telestaff, and ADP to support HR, Payroll, Finance, and operational leadership.
  • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot UKG integrations with payroll, benefits, and other downstream systems; partner with IT and the vendor on system upgrades, patches, and issue resolution.
  • Provide day-to-day functional support for Telestaff scheduling data and ADP records, ensuring consistency with UKG and payroll outputs; escalate and coordinate with the relevant system owners as needed.
  • Design and maintain HR/HRIS dashboards (headcount, turnover, overtime, certification tracking, EEO/compliance reporting) for HR, Payroll, Finance, and executive leadership.
  • Audit HRIS data on a recurring basis to ensure accuracy across systems, identify and correct discrepancies, and maintain documentation of data standards and configuration changes.
  • Support system testing, validation, and rollout for new modules, process changes, and annual events (open enrollment, compensation cycles, year-end payroll processing).
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, and Risk & Safety teams to translate business and compliance requirements (multi-state overtime rules, 207(k) considerations, certification/credential tracking) into system configuration.
  • Develop and maintain end-user documentation, job aids, and training materials for managers and employees using UKG, Telestaff, and ADP.
  • Serve as a first-level troubleshooting resource for system access, timekeeping errors, and reporting issues; triage and route more complex issues to the appropriate vendor support channel.
  • Maintain data privacy and security standards for all HRIS platforms, including access provisioning/deprovisioning tied to employee lifecycle events.
  • Support HR project work involving system data, including audits, acquisitions/entity onboarding, and process redesign initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience administering an HRIS platform, with hands-on UKG Pro configuration and reporting experience required.
  • Strong working knowledge of timekeeping, payroll interfaces, and workforce management data structures.
  • Demonstrated experience building reports and dashboards from HRIS data; advanced Excel skills required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to data accuracy and detail.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive employee data in compliance with applicable privacy and data security standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical system concepts for non-technical end users.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
  • Preferred - Prior experience in a multi-state or multi-entity organization with varying pay rules and compliance requirements.
  • Preferred - Experience with Telestaff or other public-safety/fire-EMS scheduling systems.
  • Preferred - Experience with ADP Workforce Now or a comparable payroll platform.
