Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Supervisor for a Med/Surg Telemetry unit at a Level II Trauma facility in Wildomar, CA, requiring a current CA RN license and prior supervisory experience.

Details
  • Inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit at a Level II Trauma facility
  • 90-bed unit serving patients aged 15 and up
  • Patient ratios of 4:1 for telemetry and 5:1 for Med/Surg
  • Night shift schedule: 7pโ€“7:30a, 12-hour shifts
  • Weekend requirement of 2 weekends or 4 weekend days per rotation cycle
  • Floating required to Rancho Springs Hospital
  • No on-call required
  • Rotation schedule every 6 weeks
Requirements
  • Active CA RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing Program; BSN preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
  • 1โ€“2 years of charge nurse or supervisory experience in a relevant department required
  • Basic EKG/telemetry interpretation experience required, or willingness to complete a Basic EKG course within 6 months
  • Two professional references from a manager or supervisor within the last 2 years required for consideration
  • Skills checklist completed within the last 12 months required for consideration
Additional Information
  • This is a clinical supervisor position; candidate may be subject to direct patient assignment
  • Responsible for shift-level staffing oversight, including adjusting staffing based on census and patient acuity in collaboration with the Director/Manager/House Supervisor
  • Conducts purposeful patient rounding each shift to monitor for safety concerns and support patient satisfaction
  • Participates in performance improvement activities, concurrent record reviews, and Core Measures
  • Supports staff orientation, in-service training, continuing education, and competency validation
  • Facilitates shift huddles, bed huddles, staff meetings, and IDT meetings
  • Required to attend at least 80% of Clinical Supervisor meetings
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in cardiac arrhythmia interpretation and intervention, including alerting physicians to significant changes
  • Knowledge base in bariatric, pediatric, cardiac, or orthopedic patient care may be required depending on unit assignment
  • Mandatory leadership training required, including M3 training
