Job description

Job Title: Oracle/PeopleSoft Database Administrator Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid - Downtown) Contract Duration: Through 08/31/2026 (Possible Extension) Job Overview: Seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator with a strong background in supporting PeopleSoft PeopleTools applications. This is a long-term contract role based in Austin, TX, with a hybrid work schedule. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in Oracle database administration and PeopleSoft infrastructure and will contribute to ongoing operations, performance tuning, and optimization efforts. Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, create, tune, and maintain Oracle databases for PeopleSoft PeopleTools applications.
  • Provide advanced analytical support for applications and contribute technical expertise to the team.
  • Develop and administer Oracle databases supporting PeopleSoft Enterprise applications.
  • Ensure high performance and operational success of Oracle/PeopleSoft infrastructure.
  • Perform performance tuning, monitor system health, and troubleshoot database issues.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to analyze requirements and improve application processes.
  • Document systems thoroughly and provide support to other team members on best practices.
  • Monitor and apply Oracle patches and upgrades proactively.
  • Participate in planning, scheduling, and management of related technical projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 8+ years Oracle database administration (Oracle 12c or higher) including installations, upgrades, and patching.
  • 8+ years database design and maintenance, SQL tuning, stored procedures, triggers, and performance monitoring.
  • 8+ years of data integration, data quality, and multidimensional design experience.
  • 8+ years mentoring on database standards and best practices.
  • 5+ years SQL scripting and shell script development.
  • 5+ years experience with PL/SQL and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • 5+ years developing application security requirements.
  • 5+ years supporting secure systems design.
  • 3+ years installing/configuring PeopleSoft infrastructure components (WebLogic, Tuxedo, App Server, PIA, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years working with HTML, CSS, C, JavaScript, Perl, jQuery, Exadata, and UNIX shell scripting.
  • 5+ years experience with Oracle Forms and complex SQL reporting.
  • 5+ years PeopleSoft database administration (PeopleCode, Data Mover Scripts).
  • 5+ years PeopleSoft implementations or upgrades.
  • 5+ years cross-functional collaboration on security practices.
  • 5+ years establishing standards, documenting best practices.
  • 4+ years working with Oracle RAC, OEM, and Oracle Cloud.
  • 4+ years with PeopleSoft 9.2 and PeopleTools 8.55+.
  • 4+ years experience in public sector environments.
  • 3+ years experience with Symantec NetBackup.
  • 2+ years as DBA on a full PeopleSoft lifecycle implementation.
  • OCP/OCM certification strongly preferred.
