Job description

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Cabinet Finisher to join our custom shop. This isn't a role for someone who just "sprays paint"; we are seeking a craftsperson who understands the chemistry, artistry, and precision required for high-end custom cabinetry and architectural millwork. You will be responsible for bringing raw, handcrafted pieces to life with flawless finishes that meet the exacting standards of our luxury clientele. We pride ourselves on exceptional quality and detail, and we are looking for a professional who shares our commitment to producing flawless, high end finishes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expert Application: Perform all aspects of finishing, including staining, sealing, glazing, and toning.
  • Coating Mastery: Expert application of high-performance coatings, specifically urethanes and acrylics, ensuring maximum durability and aesthetic clarity.
  • Equipment Mastery: Demonstrate high proficiency in operating and maintaining Air-Assisted Airless (AAA) pump systems and HVLP spray equipment for high-volume, premium production.
  • Surface Preparation: Prepare components and other wood surfaces by meticulous sanding, filling, and masking to ensure a perfect substrate for urethane and acrylic applications.
  • Color Matching: Expertly match custom stains and paints to designer specifications or existing samples.
  • Quality Control: Conduct final inspections to ensure every piece is free of defects like orange peel, runs, or dust nibs.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ Years of Professional Experience: Specific expertise in a custom wood shop or high-end cabinet finishing environment.
  • Chemical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of urethane chemistry, including proper mix ratios, pot life management, and environmental requirements for curing.
  • Technical Spray Proficiency: Proven experience with AAA (Air-Assisted Airless) systems, including daily setup, pressure adjustment, and deep-cleaning protocols.
  • Strong Portfolio: You must provide photos or examples of your work showcasing high-gloss finishes, complex stains, or intricate architectural millwork.
  • Detail Obsessed: An "eye for perfection" and the patience required for multi-step finish processes.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Reliability: MUST be punctual, reliable and capable of working independently as well as a positive team contributor.

Why Join Us?

  • Clean, well-ventilated shop with top-tier equipment (including dedicated AAA lines).
  • Competitive hourly wage based on the depth of your portfolio and technical skill.
  • Opportunities to work on unique, one-of-a-kind luxury projects.
  • Steady - year round work with opportunity for overtime
  • Company matching 401K, Benefits and Job Security
  • Work Hours are from 6:00 am - 3:30 pm, M-Thursday and 6:00 am - Noon on Friday
  • Relocation Assistance for out of state candidates
  • Highly competitive Pay Starting at $25.00
