Job description

Full-Time /Non-Exempt

Shop-Based Fabrication Role

Builds and assembles custom commercial cabinetry and millwork from shop drawings, from raw material through finished, hardware-installed product.

Applies laminate, cuts components to exact dimensions, and operates fabrication machinery to produce high-end cabinetry for commercial and hospitality clients.

Works in the fabrication shop as part of a team producing custom casework for projects nationwide.

Compensation:

$25 - $35 hourly


Responsibilities:
  • Assembles custom cabinets and millwork to shop drawing specifications

  • Builds custom cabinetry from raw material to finished product

  • Applies laminate to substrates, face frames, and millwork

  • Reads and interprets shop drawings and architectural sets

  • Operates machinery associated with millwork and cabinet fabrication

  • Cuts materials to exact dimensions using fractional measurements and angles

  • Fabricates custom millwork and cabinetry components for high-end commercial projects

  • Installs hardware including pulls, locks, hinges, and specialty items

  • Verifies finished pieces meet shop drawing specifications before completion

  • Follows safe operating procedures for power tools and fabrication machinery

  • Organizes and maintains a clean, functional shop workstation

  • Collaborates with other cabinetmakers and shop staff to meet production schedules

  • Selects and prepares materials for fabrication runs

  • Communicates fabrication issues or drawing discrepancies to a supervisor

  • Applies quality-control checks throughout the build process


Qualifications:

Hard skills

  • Blueprint, shop drawing, and architectural set interpretation

  • Cabinet and millwork fabrication machinery operation

  • Precision cutting to exact dimensions

  • Fractional math and geometric angle calculation

  • Laminate application technique

Soft skills

  • Strong attention to detail and quality control

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a shop team

  • Time management across multiple fabrication projects

  • Physical stamina for shop-floor work

  • Clear communication with team members and supervisors

Required:  2–5 years of experience in cabinetry or carpentry

Preferred:  Construction, trim, or installation experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of standing and operating machinery in a fabrication shop setting

  • Repetitive lifting, cutting, and material handling throughout each shift

  • Lifting materials and finished cabinetry up to 75 lbs or more

  • Personal protective equipment required in the shop

  • Minimal travel expected
