Job description

Summary/Objective
Flexible, results-driven team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines.
Essential Functions
  • Maintain and promote teamwork and effective communication.
  • Promote and display operational values and the implementation of the 3-Phases of Quality Control.
  • Performing effective fabrication techniques while working with various Millwork department teams
  • Read and understand blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications for each job.
  • Utilize AWI standards and techniques to fabricate casework, architectural woodwork & fixtures.
  • Lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds and occasionally more.

Qualifications and Experience
  • 4 years of apprenticeship training and/or experience in commercial casework and millwork industry fabrication and installation methods.
  • Complete knowledge of AWI standards.
  • Strong ability to work under deadlines.
  • Ability and willingness to gain basic computer skills.
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position is not a supervisor role but may entail providing advice and guidance to Shop Apprentices
Work Environment
This job operates primarily in a factory setting
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Shop fabrication activities and loading and unloading of raw materials, product and tools/equipment require regular physical lifting.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time hourly union position.
Travel
This position requires 10% occasional travel to jobsites
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  1. Must pass a pre-employment screen, including but not limited to: drug and alcohol screen, background check, motor vehicle records check, reference check and physical (if applicable).
  2. Current and valid drivers' license in the state of permanent residence (must be insurable by Jayne's automobile insurance carrier in order to drive a Jayne's vehicle).
